Hi Parrothead1983, and a warm welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you have enjoyed editing as much as I did so far and decide to stay. Unfamiliar with the features and workings of Wikipedia? Don't fret! Be Bold! Here's some good links for your reference and that'll get you started in no time!

Most Wikipedians would prefer to just work on articles of their own interest. But if you have some free time to spare, here are some open tasks that you may want to help out :

  • RC Patrol - Keeping a lookout for vandalism.
  • Cleanup - Help make unreadable articles readable.
  • Requests - Wanted on WP, but hasn't been created.
  • Merge - Combining duplicate articles into one.
  • Wikiprojects - So many to join, so many to choose from...Take your pick!

Oh yes, don't forget to sign when you write on talk pages, simply type four tildes, like this: ~~~~. This will automatically add your name and the time after your comments. And finally, if you have any questions or doubts, don't hesitate to contact me on my talk page. Once again, welcome! =)

Pokémon Torouze

edit

Do you have a source for your claim that this game is a port of Yoshi's Cookie? Sonic Mew | talk to me 14:29, 26 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

You may find this interesting.
Playing Pokemon Torouze feels a heck of a lot like Yoshi's Cookie, if the cookies were turned into the hundreds of Pokemon critters, and the controls were more touch-screen oriented, and the bin was more vertical in shape, and if it was far more energetic with a huge emphasis on combo settings. In reality, Pokemon Torouze is only similar on the surface to Yoshi's Cookie, but the change in mechanics really make it shine as a new puzzler.
So it looks like it is similar, but it is certainly not a port. Sonic Mew | talk to me 13:01, 30 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

The Pokémon protagonists

edit

I saw you edited Red (Pokémon) and Ash Ketchum to add pictures and references that conflated the two characters. I know it's common in the Pokémon fandom to use Red/Ash to refer to the video game protagonists pretty interchangably, but I've been trying to establish consistent use on Wikipedia, for clarity's sake.

The video game character I've been referring to as "the protagonist of (such and such game)", since the name is changable, the default name varies, and fan usage is so inconsistent. Red is the protagonist of Pokémon Adventures, since that naming is consistent, and Ash or Ash Ketchum are the protagonist of the Pokémon anime, which, again, is consistent.

I've edited Ash Ketchum and Red (Pokémon) to reflect this.

Oh, and one other thing: when you upload a Pokémon image owned by Nintendo, probably your best bet for license info is the {{Pokeimage}} template. Just add {{Pokeimage}} to the description of the image and you're set. - A Man In Black (conspire | past ops) 17:14, 27 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

Tomato Adventure

edit

(copied here from my talk page since I wasn't sure if you would be watching it)

Why does this article need to be deleted? Is it because of the grammer? Is it because it is because it is too minor? Is it because it doesn't have enough info? Tell me what is the problem with this article?

User:Parrothead1983

  • Because it's just another video game. It's not genre-defining, it didn't have any cultural influence. I don't think articles on minor videogames are encyclopedic. -- Hirudo 01:36, 12 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hey. Just so you know, you don't need to put links to the other language wikis explicitly in the external links section of articles. On this article, for example, I've made the links as they should be, and if you look to the left of the article, the interlanguage links are there. To see how to do it, just look at the ES and JA links I put at the very bottom of the article. --InShaneee 02:40, 12 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Densetsu no Stafy

edit

Hello there! I noticed you made the Legend of Stafy page, which I've been working on a lot as well. I have a question for you, since you're obviously fluent in the Japanese language while I am not. Is Stafy a starfish, or is he something else? Sometimes I hear people saying that he's a "sky star." Which is correct?

Thanks! --Liquidcross 13:37, 12 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Proper usage of Japanese text

edit

When giving the Japanese kana for whatever, please put it in this format: {{nihongo|Name|Kana|Hepburn Romanization|any extra notes}}. Make sure not to come up with your own Romanizations, as that is original research. Also, if Hepburn Romanization is the same as Name, it is not necessary to put in the Hepburn Romanization. You can see how I have done it here. ' 08:59, 24 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Oni Ga Shima vs. Onigashima

edit

Hey, I'm translating some of the articles you requested on ja/en translation, and I have a question. Is it established policy that 新・鬼ヶ島 be spelled "Shin Oni Ga Shima" rather than "Shin Onigashima"? Onigashima is the name of an island, and in my opinion it looks awkward split up into three parts (see wiki article Onigashima). Thinkbeforeyouclick 18:02, 15 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

According to the description of the Donbe & Hikari trophy in Super Smash Bros. Melee, the Famicom Disk System title they were from was called "Shin Oni Ga Shima". However, it might have been a small translation error, due to a few other trophies having errors. If Donbe, Hikari and/or anyone else from that title appeared in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, it might be called "Shin Onigashima" instead of "Shin Oni Ga Shima." Parrothead1983 17:48, 15 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
Okay, thanks for clarifying. Also, your new translation request definitely needs to be corrected and the page you created needs to be moved. It should be "Time Twist: Rekishi no Katasumi de..." instead of "Katasume." Thinkbeforeyouclick 02:10, 16 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
Got it. I've also made a few more requests, but you don't have to finish these as soon as possible. I'm just creating the articles and requests. I appreciate you for translating the Sutte Hakkun article. And I have one question: How do I make English-to-Japanese article requests? Parrothead1983 09:50, 16 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
Don't worry, I'll be taking my time with the ones I already signed up for. As for you question, as far as I know there is no space on either ja or en wikipedia to make such requests. Japanese wikipedia doesn't even have translation request pages of any sort. Thinkbeforeyouclick 03:36, 16 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
Some Japanese articles I requested for translation don't require much translation, but they still need to, because they contain information needed for the English articles. These are perhaps the easiest. Parrothead1983 07:36, 16 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Magical Starsign?

edit

Each part of the Japanese article should be translated into the Magical Vacation and Magical Starsign articles instead of Magical Starsign (series). I don't see the reason for having a separate article with redundant information that can be found in the individual articles. Fox (talk) 13:49, 4 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Then what should I do? Should I create two translation requests that are similar to the Stunt Race FX request? Parrothead1983 (talk) 15:37, 4 April 2008 (UTC)Reply
You don't have to do anything. I'm just letting you know that I'll add whatever content there is to the individual articles rather than the series article. I'll make the series article into a gateway article like the Famicom Tantei Club when I finish the translation. Fox (talk) 00:38, 5 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Talkheader

edit

Hi, I've noticed you adding {{Talkheader}} to some talk pages recently. According to the template page, "This template should be used only when needed. Do not add this template to every talk page. In particular, it should not be added to otherwise empty talk pages." Please do not add this template by default—only use it when necessary, as it adds quite a bit of clutter to the talk page. In particular, this edit is a good example of a talk page that had no need for Talkheader. Thanks, Pagrashtak 21:18, 21 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Cut and paste moves

edit

Hello, Parrothead1983. I noticed you moved the page Cooking Guide: Can't Decide What to Eat? via cut and paste. In the future, please move all pages with the "move" button at the top of the page. The reason for this is, when a cut and paste move is performed, it seperates the article from the edit history. This is a problem because the GDFL requires that all contributors be given credit, and this is achieved through the edit history. Of course, if the history and article aren't paired up, it voids the GDFL, hence the problem. I've already merged the histories, so don't worry about it. If you have any questions, or have moved other pages in this manner (and require fixing), please let me know, either here or on my talk page. Thanks. Parsecboy (talk) 12:58, 22 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

I tried to use the "move" button, but it wouldn't work, because there was another article already made, so my only choice was to "cut and paste". Parrothead1983 (talk) 15:28, 22 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Trip World / Kwirk

edit

Hello, Parrothead, I read in a YouTube comment of yours that you need reception information for Trip World. Well, I could find two ratings from German magazines. One is from ASM issue 6/93, they gave it 9 out of 12 (scan). Furthermore, Video Games 8/93 rated it 68%. Sadly, there is no scan for the latter one, only the rating itself. --Grandy02 (talk) 14:02, 9 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Did you receive this message? Or is it just not enough for the article (I've also seen game articles which mention only one rating, though)? --Grandy02 (talk) 17:46, 22 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
I'm not sure about this. Recently, A Link to the Past removed the reception section for Kururin Squash!. I don't know why, but he might do the same thing to Trip World and several other video game-related articles. Parrothead1983 (talk) 18:15, 22 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
I think he removed it because it was just a list, but offered no actual review information (for one article, he told "A review table is unnecessary without a real review section"). The same might happen to Kwirk if it doesn't change (but there's enough to tell about at least the Video Games and Mean Machines reviews). Sadly, the only subjective part of the German Trip World review is "In any case a treat for action fans and for anyone else who would like to smile", the rest is a description of the game. Don't know if that's enough. But I think that it was just a plain list was the main reason. You could also write about the two ratings without making a list, I hope. --Grandy02 (talk) 19:06, 22 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
Articles about Stunt Race FX and the SNES Super Punch-Out!! also might get their reception sections removed. Writing reception sections sound difficult, because I don't know what are the most important parts of the critic reviews, and I don't know what all I need to write. Here is what the Kururin Squash! article looked like before A Link to the Past removed it. Parrothead1983 (talk) 19:24, 22 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
I added information to the reception section of Kwirk, what do you think? There are many good and featured articles on video games with reception sections, you should take a look at those (I did so, I read Super Mario 64 and Mario Power Tennis). Point out what the editors highlighted in their reviews, both the good and bad aspects of the game. It's also a matter of opinion what the most important of a specific review is, but I think you are by far smart enough to measure it wisely. --Grandy02 (talk) 22:28, 22 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
I felt so free and also added a small reception section for Trip World. Do you think that part of the top template can be removed now? I think {{refimprove|date=November 2008}} would be enough for the current article. That it needs to be expanded is already covered by the stub template. --Grandy02 (talk) 17:17, 23 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

I'm glad to inform you that I got Trip World with its German manual, so I will be able to add information to the article and also to cite the manual (like in the Wario World article) when I have time to do so. However, Yacopu's name is romanized "Yakopoo" in the German manual (and probably also in the British one). "Yacopu" is from Galaxy Fight, right? Which one should we use? And from where do you know the European release year 1992? --Grandy02 (talk) 15:26, 6 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Good, but let's stick with "Yacopu", because Galaxy Fight was his most recent appearance, and I believe the localizers reviewed his name and corrected it. It's like when Shin Onigashima was formally referred to as "Shin Oni Ga Shima" in Super Smash Bros. Melee, but when I encountered a Japanese language expert name Noveltyghost, he told me that he believed "Shin Onigashima" is the correct spelling. Later, Nintendo officially referred to it as "Shin Onigashima", because they figured it was the correct spelling. "Yacopoo" looks like it's misspelled or something like that, while "Yacopu" sounds either like a Japanese name or a name made up by Japanese for fictional reasons. Trip World was developed by a Japanese company, so I would stick with "Yacopu". Now for the European release, I found the box art and release year here. Parrothead1983 (talk) 08:58, 7 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
Okay, then it's Yacopu. As to the site classic-zone.de, I know this site and they usually use the original release dates rather than the European ones (it's sometimes inconsistent, though). The German manual has this text on its backcover: "©1992, 1993 Sun Electronics Corporation". Does that imply that it was released in Europe (or at least in Germany) in 1993? --Grandy02 (talk) 19:33, 7 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
I believe it is 1993. I'll change it. Parrothead1983 (talk) 22:10, 7 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

I added information on plot and some more, I'll probably add information on gameplay in the next days. Have you seen Trip World's opening sequence? You can find it on YouTube since a few weeks (search for "Trip World Level 1 (gameboy)"). --Grandy02 (talk) 19:59, 10 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Yes I have, and I even beat the game. Nice work on the article. Parrothead1983 (talk) 23:59, 10 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
Thank you! Oh, didn't know you played the game, because a part of the article sounds like that it was written by someone who hasn't played it ("Yacopu sometimes automatically shapeshifts himself into special forms"). Well, I guess you played the game after you wrote the article. --Grandy02 (talk) 08:18, 11 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
Actually, I beat the game before I created the article. I couldn't think of anything else to write in the article. I apologize for that. Parrothead1983 (talk) 04:43, 26 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

I (almost) finished the article (regarding the available information). What is still needed: I read that arranged music from Trip World is used in Galaxy Fight. Also heard it on YouTube, but which song is it exactly? And a meaningful screenshot is necessary, could you add one? Of course, it would also be nice to have more information on reception and development, but it's very hard to find something, especially about the latter one. By the way, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! :-) --Grandy02 (talk) 20:00, 25 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Very nice work, Grandy02. What made you decide to help expand the article? Did you see me in a list of contributions or something like that? Parrothead1983 (talk) 04:43, 26 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
Well, I actually didn't own Trip World before I worked on the article. But I read about the game first a few years ago in two German crossover fan comics mixing Trip World with Kirby, found the link on the KRR forums back then: here. Shortly later, I read the review on Classic-Zone.de, and it looked like a game that would appeal to me. When I joined the NinDB board, I read your name and then on Wikipedia again, and saw that you also worked on the article Trip World, reminding me of this game. Well, something like that. Since the article was "stubby" and there's almost nothing on English-language sites, I thought this little game deserves more attention, and decided to get the game so I could finally play it and also expand the article. I like classic and more obscure games, but it also has to appeal to me, otherwise I wouldn't improve that much on a game article. Anyway, could you add a screenshot? I would like to request a new assessment after it has been added. And Kwirk is a game that I already know from my early childhood, unlike Trip World. --Grandy02 (talk) 12:15, 26 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
I created the Trip World article, because I'm preserving information about video games developed and/or published by Sunsoft. Most people in North America mostly think of them as the ones responsible for the NES Batman, NES Return of the Joker, Fester's Quest, Gremlins 2: The New Batch, Aero the Acro-Bat series, Zero the Kamikaze Squirrel, Blaster Master 1 and 2, Journey to Silius, Galaxy Fight, Waku Waku 7 and that's about it. In Japan, most people think more than that, minus the American and Europe developed games and the Warner Bros. licensed games. I'm trying to preserve as much information about Sunsoft and several other video game companies as possible. I'm also working on preserving other things I remember in my life that not many people know of. Anyway, I've added a screenshot to the article. And I have another question: How do you request an assessment? Parrothead1983 (talk) 10:06, 27 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for adding the screenshot. I did actually include the link for assessment within my last message: here or more specifically here. I just put the article in the list and wrote why it should be rated again. I hope it will be rated Start-Class. Very good job on preserving information on not so well-known topics, thanks to you and other committed people, they won't get forgotten. :-) --Grandy02 (talk) 12:35, 27 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
By the way, isn't the Sunsoft game "Babapapa" in this list actually called Barbapapa (Amazon)? --Grandy02 (talk) 13:10, 27 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
Well, I changed "Babapapa" to "Barbapapa", because of what you showed me. I typed it as "Babapapa" because I was probably looking at another list of Sunsoft titles at GameFAQs's. I heard that GameFAQs is not a reliable source of video game info, but I'm not so sure if everything is unreliable about the website. Speaking of GameFAQs, at its Trip World page, it lacks the European box art. Before you upload one at GameFAQs, don't upload the one Wikipedia currently has, scan and upload one with higher-quality if you have the box. Parrothead1983 (talk) 16:24, 27 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
Sadly, I don't have the box. Anyway, does that mean we should use another source rather than GameFAQs for the release date? Amazon.co.jp also tells the date, can this be used instead? EDIT: Read here that GameFAQs can be used as a source for dates as long as better sources aren't available. Which is "better", GameFAQs or Amazon.co.jp? EDIT 2: I also have my concerns whether this fansite can be cited for Yacopu's appearance in Galaxy Fight, but I couldn't find any better source (in English), it's all fan-contributed. Do you have an instruction booklet for this game, does it mention Yacopu in any way? --Grandy02 (talk) 17:36, 27 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
No, I don't have any version of Galaxy Fight and I've never played it before. Parrothead1983 (talk) 00:01, 28 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Cobra Command

Hello. Would you have any objections if I altered your move of the Cobra Command (laserdisc video game) and renamed Cobra Command (arcade game) so that they fall in line with WP:VGs naming guidelines? They are both original games with no connection to one another, bar their theme, so I propose renaming them Cobra Command (1984 video game) and Cobra Command (1988 video game). It would also help remove the possible confusion from the fact that the laser disc title wasn't just a laser disc title due to its later adaptation to CD formats. - X201 (talk) 09:21, 18 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Sas Sakata

edit

I've reverted some of your edits about Sas Sakata in the articles Tag Team Wrestling and Karate Champ because you've included errenous informations.

Sas Sakata only developed the NES version of Tag Team Wrestling, not the Commodore 64 or IBM versions.

Sas Sakata did not developed the NES version of Karate Champ. This version was developed by Data East USA, the American division of Data East.

RE:Sas Sakata

edit
Go to http://www.vgrebirth.org/ and you'll see that SAS Sakata did not developed Karate Champ in any way. It says that the port was developed by Data East. If you play the Karate Champ version that was released in 1988 for the Famicom Disk System in Japan, you will see that the name of Data East USA is on the titlescreen and not just the name of the Japanese parent company Data East Corporation, implying that the Karate Champ port for the NES (or Disk System) was developed in the United States. Keep in mind that although Data East USA was primarily a publisher, it also developed a few ports in its own right such as Karate Champ and Rampage.
SAS Sakata only developed the Famicom (NES) version of Tag Team Wrestling. It never developed the computers versions of Tag Team Wrestling because 1) SAS Sakata did not developed games for home computers nor IBM computers and 2) theses computer platforms were not commercially available in Japan where SAS Sakata is based. If you play the computer versions of Tag Team Wrestling, you'll see on the titlescreen that Quicksilver Software ported these games. If you are playing an European version of Tag Team Wrestling, you'll most likely find the name of U.S Gold on the titlescreen.Farine (talk) 22:57, 30 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Per WP:PRIMARY, a section of Wikipedia's policy on no original research, "Wikipedia articles should be based on reliable, published secondary sources and, to a lesser extent, on tertiary sources." Primary sources are certainly welcome and if I had a developer interview, I certainly would have used it. But I wrote the best article I could with the sources I could find. GameSetWatch is part of a network of game developer websites, so I believe the content had certain editorial standards to meet. (Guyinblack25 talk 15:43, 11 January 2011 (UTC))Reply

Micon Block

edit

Hey, just curious why Jap-Sai.com is a reliable source for claims that the first SNK game was Micon Block, as there does not appear to be a single other English language source that mentions anything about the game (other than wikipedia and sites that copy from wikipedia of course), and that includes places like arcade-history.com and the arcade flyer museum that have plenty of info on obscure Japanese games that never made it to the United States. Its also curious that the release date is given as April 1978 when numerous sources including the (now defunct) SNK website say the company was founded that July. I see no indication that Jap-Sai satisfies wikipedia's requirements for reliable sources being that it appears to be a commercial site with some historical info thrown in for which no sources are cited, no credentials are offered for the author, and there is no professional editorial oversight. Not saying that Micon Block does not exist, and not ruling out that it is an SNK game, but it really seems odd to take this one person's word for it absent any other credible English sources. Even Japanese sources translated through google or something would be somewhat helpful to prove this is actually true. Indrian (talk) 21:42, 29 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

USAAF Mustang

edit

I moved this page to "USAAF Mustang" from "US-AAF Mustang" because there was no indication of a hyphen, "USAAFムスタング" and "USAAF MUSTANG" commonly appear on Japanese websites, and the organization itself is known as the "USAAF". Until I can find a flyer, this seems best.

I went through the history and found that you put the hyphen there, claiming "Title has a dash." Where does this hyphen come from, then? Despatche (talk) 09:20, 3 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Well I thought names like this and some fighter planes have hyphens (or "dashes" as I refer to them) in them, but I appreciate the correction. Parrothead1983 (talk) 07:17, 4 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Uh? Hello? Lol ok, nevermind, to tell you the truth I dont give a flying sh*t about it. Most of the time (or everytime?) I add the GameFAQs link because it contains the front/back cover, screenshots, reviews, FAQs and etcs, all in the same site, I don't see what's the problem. I always saw the GameFAQs link, long before joining Wikipedia.

I'm a GameFAQs member since a year ago and I can say that half of my "Game Data" contributions are just corrections: vg-developers essentially. Actually the only reason I registered myself in there was to correct all the mistakes and add better cover arts. Same sh*t goes with Wikipedia, I can't remember the stuff I corrected in the past months (or when I started editing). There's a lot of crap in here...... and the main causer is the user GVnayR. I'm only talking about retro games related articles, just in case. Ok, there are other causers, but those are anonymous or simply just rarely edit. GVnayR is here almost every single day for the past 6 years(?), so he should be responsible.

Anyway, how can Wikipedia consider this or that not a reliable source if it isn't reliable itself?

If we are talking about old-school games then I think "sharing" the GameFAQs link as an external link is definitely a must.

I read this a few days ago on SNESMusic forum: "GameFAQs and Wikipedia are good only for the current generation of consoles, everything prior to that is a crap shot." Sadly, I have to agree with it.

About the old-school games or retro games (or whatever you call it), I noticed that only the user GVnayR keeps editing or pseudo-improving the articles. And now he started to change "reflist" to "refs|30em", I wonder how many pages he will edit in the next days/weeks... It's sad or annoying opening my watchlist page and see these kind of edits all the time. Oh well, I guess he's obsessed with his number of edits since when he edits his own user page, it's to change/increase the number of edits. I wonder what's the point, more than half of those edits are totally irrelevant (not to use other adjective). Seriously, who cares if he (or anyone else) has "59009" edits?!? When I start editing Wikipedia I thought he was a cool editor but I was totally wrong. Anyway, I can stay here for hours typing about his lame-irresponsible edits, better not...

I will continue add the GameFAQs links if I think it is necessary. --Hydao (talk) 09:25, 28 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Well, okay then. I forgot that the featured article Alleyway has a GameFAQs link, but only in the external links. I heard that Wikipedia doesn't even rely on popular websites that have even the tiniest errors. For instance, read this. One error I can think of that GameFAQs has is listing games by Information Global Service and games by International Games System in one list, incorrectly thinking they were developed by the same company. Parrothead1983 (talk) 04:40, 29 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
UPL? Interesting...
Check the history of these two pages:
I'm just giving you two examples... recent ones. You can see GVnayR's "lameness". No more comments...
I work in the gaming industry and love retro games (SFC mainly), I'm just here trying to improve articles and correct the uber-lame errors, no big deal. And of course always trying to keep an eye on GVnayR's "contributions". -_-" --Hydao (talk) 10:43, 29 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hi. When you recently edited TAD Corporation, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages French and High definition (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). The company developed this Gundam title, etcs, and there's already the Japanese and French wiki-page, I don't understand why the English page got deleted. It's not acceptable. --Hydao (talk) 17:02, 28 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Here's why. Parrothead1983 (talk) 04:07, 29 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
Yes, I read it hours ago. That's -.-". You should create the page again, soon. This time it will not be deleted. ;)
Company pages... Let me give you just one example:
http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Loriciels (created in 2006)
http://en.wiki.x.io/w/index.php?title=Loricels&action=history (created in 2008)
The same defunct company had two pages for more than three years. What a lucky company... --Hydao (talk) 05:09, 29 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
To answer your other question: yes, I added the website, as well as the complete(?) list of published titles, but they still removed the article. If you want the article recreated, then I suggest you should do it yourself. The Wikipedians might ban me, warn me, or something like them. Parrothead1983 (talk) 03:06, 30 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
I will do it but first I have to make a lil' research, I guess. I played almost all the X68000 games produced by them. Anyway, did you save the text you made for FamilySoft? No, I guess? --Hydao (talk) 18:35, 30 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
No, but it was nearly as small as the Japanese Wikipedia article and the list was built using that article and the FamilySoft webpage of GameFAQs. Parrothead1983 (talk) 05:52, 31 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
Ok, I re-created it now. My english is not the best, so you should improve the intro. When you created the Wiki-page, the GameFAQs list was kinda incomplete, I added few games + cover arts a few weeks ago. --Hydao (talk) 07:48, 31 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
See also this Wikipedia article. Before FamilySoft's article was deleted, I created another company article "Mobile & Game Studio" (founded by Game Studio) that was speedily deleted by Wikipedians. Parrothead1983 (talk) 08:58, 31 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
Well, it seems that Mobile & Game Studio produced "only" 4, 5, 6 games? so far. You can write about Mobile & Game Studio on Game Studio's page, I guess.
P.S. Family Soft made Macross games too. I didn't know. See the Game list: http://www.mobygames.com/browse/games/family-soft-co-ltd/

Cooking stuff.

edit

Hey Parrothead1983. I was playing this game Cooking Guide: Can't Decide What to Eat?, and I noticed that the GameFAQs page is messed up, but I already told them to merge and correct everything. I'm not a GameFAQs fan at all (I fancy the visual of the page though), I only read some reviews once in a while, but the thing is, if you spot some error in the future (developer or whatever), maybe you could correct it? it will only take 5 seconds or so. I'm saying this because there are many morons and wikipedia editors (for example, crazy GVnayR was an example) who use GameFAQs as the "ultimate source". You edited/improved the wiki page almost 4 years ago but didn't bother correcting the GameFAQs info. All you had to do was.... submit a merge lol. :) --Hydao (talk) 21:58, 19 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Panzer Bandit cover.jpg

edit

A tag has been placed on File:Panzer Bandit cover.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Proposed deletion of Memorial Series

edit

The article Memorial Series has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Notability: significant RS coverage cannot be found. A collection of video games, tagged "Notability" since 2008.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Speedy deletion nomination of Heaven's Gate (video game)

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Heaven's Gate (video game), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Proposed deletion of List of Sunsoft video games

edit

Hello, Parrothead1983. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, List of Sunsoft video games, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

Deletion discussion about List of Sunsoft video games

edit

Hello, Parrothead1983,

I wanted to let you know that there's a discussion about whether List of Sunsoft video games should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of Sunsoft video games .

If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

Thanks,

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Punch-out mrdream boxart.PNG

edit

Thank you for uploading File:Punch-out mrdream boxart.PNG. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.

ArbCom 2018 election voter message

edit

Hello, Parrothead1983. Voting in the 2018 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 3 December. All users who registered an account before Sunday, 28 October 2018, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Thursday, 1 November 2018 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2018 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 19 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Theta (video game)

edit

The article Theta (video game) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non notable game that fails WP:GNG.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
