RE:Bull of Heaven
Whether I mention the author of the article or not is immaterial. Reverting the genre list to "experimental" when many of the references in the article mention that they make classical, jazz, and rock music is childish. At best it is petty... at worst it is vandalism. No other band requires citations to support the genres in their list. It's that simple. Lagopodous (talk) 18:51, 5 February 2015 (UTC)
- I think it'd be better if we continue the discussion at the Talk:Bull of Heaven instead of our own talk pages. Also every other band requires sources for these. Myxomatosis57 (talk) 19:00, 5 February 2015 (UTC)
SF Media at Apex Predator – Easy Meat
To quote: "Specifically, reviews should be written by professional music journalists or DJs, or found within any online or print publication having a (paid or volunteer) editorial and writing staff (which excludes personal blogs), and must be from a source that is independent of the artist, record company, etc." (from Wikipedia:WikiProject Albums/Sources) SF Media clearly meets these criteria. However, if you feel the need to challenge SF Media please do so at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Albums. IndustrialGiant (talk) 21:06, 7 February 2015 (UTC)

What's going on. New Order's page has been protected again because of the New Order Vandal. Protection expired on March 4, why bother protecting again. We might need another rangeblock for this guy.

About Genres
Nice job on citing genres at various music articles, like you recently did at the Manic Street Preachers album articles. I was actually going to message you before, but I saw you were on break. Anyway, you seem to be pretty good at finding genre sources. It makes me wish that more users would take the time cite genres, rather than removing genres that are unsourced or just arbitrarily messing around with the genres. I also try to cite genres at music articles myself.
So, out of curiosity, what method do you use to find genre sources? Kokoro20 (talk) 16:05, 22 June 2015 (UTC)
- Thank you! Well, I mostly look up for the album reviews and related publications cited on the article for any descriptions for the genres. Also, googling the album/artist with these keywords (such as "rock, pop, punk, electronic, metal, rap," etc.) may be helpful and is likely to yield results. I mostly choose the notable and well-written ones among these results. It's pretty basic, actually. Myxomatosis57 (talk) 20:35, 22 June 2015 (UTC)
- Oh, that's basically what I do as well. I just wanted to know if you did anything different from my method. But still, its sometimes hard to find genre sources for albums and especially songs. There's been times where I searched, only for nothing to come up. Lately, I've been expanding to edit on some more music articles, so you might see me sometime at some music articles you edit. Kokoro20 (talk) 02:11, 23 June 2015 (UTC)
- Indeed, it is especially hard for song articles. Keep up the good work! Myxomatosis57 (talk) 09:19, 23 June 2015 (UTC)

Article upgrade assistance request (Pre-translation stage)
Seasons Greetings,
This is in reference to a relatively new umbrella article on en-wikipedia named Ceremonial pole. Ceremonial pole is a human tradition since ancient times; either existed in past at some point of time, or still exists in some cultures across global continents from north to south & from east to west. Ceremonial poles are used to symbolize a variety of concepts in several different world cultures.
Through article Ceremonial pole we intend to take encyclopedic note of cultural aspects and festive celebrations around Ceremonial pole as an umbrella article and want to have historical, mythological, anthropological aspects, reverence or worships wherever concerned as a small part.
While Ceremonial poles have a long past and strong presence but usually less discussed subject. Even before we seek translation of this article in global languages, we need to have more encyclopedic information/input about Ceremonial poles from all global cultures and languages. And we seek your assistance in the same.
Since other contributors to the article are insisting for reliable sources and Standard native english; If your contributions get deleted (for some reason like linguistics or may be your information is reliable but unfortunately dosent match expectations of other editors) , please do list the same on Talk:Ceremonial pole page so that other wikipedians may help improve by interlanguage collaborations, and/or some other language wikipedias may be interested in giving more importance to reliablity of information over other factors on their respective wikipedia.
This particular request is being made to you since your user name is listed in Wikipedia:Translators available list.
Thanking you with warm regards Mahitgar (talk) 06:13, 24 October 2015 (UTC)

Genres again
Remember, before citing genres in infoboxes, always be sure to check the prose first. This edit removed a genre (alternative rock), which was cited in the prose, as were electronic rock and rap rock. Also, per WP:INFOBOXREF, sources should generally not be in the infobox if the material is already cited in the prose. Think of this as a heads up.
But otherwise, nice job on citing genres at various music articles.
- I didn't see that it was sourced in the prose. Sorry about that. Myxomatosis57 (talk) 16:13, 14 November 2015 (UTC)

Rumours (album) - genre
Hi! Just letting you know that we supposed to have based on the fact of any older professional reviews for the album via genre. I have only one: Michael Goldberg of Rolling Stone called the album a "pop-rock soap opera." (from Contemporary Musicians: Profiles of the People in Music; ISBN 0810354039)

- Hello,
- The sources for genres (or the album in general) are not simply limited to album reviews: it can be any article from a third-party reliable source (to be precise, from a notable publishing.) Besides the one you've found, I've found these two articles from Irish Times and The Telegraph. They call the record pop rock and soft rock, respectively. Recent edits
Hi. I see that you've reverted (with no summary’s really explaining why) my recent edits to Jane's Addiction album pages. To state on every one that they had a live album before their debut is pretty trivial and repetitive. Also, in regards to your restoring alternative metal to Ritual de lo habitual; how many sub-genre's are we gonna have??? This just seems overly excessive for an infobox. --Blastmaster11 (talk) 20:51, 5 June 2016 (UTC)
- Hello, I wasn't intending to revert your edit regarding the album triviality and that was caught up, sorry for the inconvenience. On the genre issue, you're right; I was thinking that we may at least drop one of them. We can start a new discussion on the talk page. Myxomatosis57 (talk) 20:55, 5 June 2016 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for September 7
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Minimal Nation, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Axis Records. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Viking metal FAC
I have nominated Viking metal as a featured article candidate. If you would like to comment on it, please see the review page. It's been languishing without much attention. Thanks, --3family6 (Talk to me | See what I have done) 20:11, 25 November 2016 (UTC)

Dashes
I think you are using the wrong dash? I see a lot of pages you've been on/created where you use the longer one (—) but I think the correct one is (–) which is also located below the edit box under the dropdown menu under "Wiki markup". It's the first dash listed. --Jennica✿ / talk 06:50, 19 March 2017 (UTC)
- Hello, I think I'm mixing up the en dash and the em dash. I'll take a note of that, thanks for notifying. Myxomatosis57 (talk) 06:59, 19 March 2017 (UTC)

That problem user
I have no idea how problem she is.
- Should've Said No - she reverted back to its bare URLs, pop rock ref disappeared and "mixed reviews" without WP:SYNTH. Special:diff/771896925
- Wishes (Rhodes album); Rhodes (musician) - The point is Sputnik does not have any reviews or biography. Special:diff/771896928, Special:diff/771896932

Reflist|2
Hi. Reflist|2 is deprecated per Template:Reflist#Columns. I usually just use {{Reflist|30em}} instead. Thanks. And perhaps you could look at Help:Referencing for beginners so you are not leaving bare references? It would be great. There's also a tool that converts them to full references. You just paste the article title in and login with your wiki account.--Jennica✿ / talk 11:11, 28 June 2017 (UTC)
- Hello, I normally use the Provelt tool to fill in references as seen in my previous edits; however, Wikipedia is currently banned in my country. In my last few edits, I was able to use a proxy server but due to the proxy I was using, I was not able to access any of those tools: that's why I left the references as bare URLs, to fix them later. Nonetheless, I am currently unable to edit Wikipedia altogether to fix the URLs since all of the secured proxies are banned. (I can still view the site through another proxy which was banned from editing.) -Myxomatosis57 (talk) 13:52, 29 June 2017 (UTC)
- I am somehow able to edit Wikipedia right now though. -Myxomatosis57 (talk) 13:53, 29 June 2017 (UTC)
