Russian navy SSBNs

I am the only one currently providing a source/reference or what ever you want to call it. Please follow the link to this source (<---- by clicking on the word source). As you can see its a russian based web site and is a Wikipedia:reliable source. I suggest you read Wikipedia:reliable source if you havent already. There are 9 SSBNs in the Russian navy, I have confirmed the names of the Delta IV class that are in service on the Russian Navy talk page. Fort Ross, California

Thank you for your contributions to this article. However, I think you're mistaken in believing that Jenner is a city. In California, "city" indicates a type of settlement incorporated under state law. --Stepheng3 (talk) 15:35, 4 October 2010 (UTC)

I have re-instated the sentences regarding the Fort Ross chapel being used as a stable during the American Ranch period, which you deleted. There are two historic references, one from Kate Field and John Muir, who wrote that "the chapel had ruthlessly been turned into a stable", and from noted architect Charles Greene, who wrote in 1893 "In the interior of the chapel the sacriligious hand has wrought havoc, for the building has been used as a stable and is fitted up with stalls. The modern Californian cares more for his horses than for his soul" The quotes and their sources are contained in the source listed. As to your comment about not finding the information on the State's site; beware of California State Parks veracity: they are notorious for covering up mistakes in interpretation and are extremely flawed in their research.Ltkizhi (talk) 21:49, 9 February 2011 (UTC)

Orthodox population

Hi, Moryak. I had occasion recently to read a comment you left about 11 months ago on the Russian Orthodox Church talk page about how counting the Orthodox Christians in Russia is a highly problematic matter, for a variety of reasons. That's certainly true for more Orthodox nations than Russia, and there are occasional complaints at the Eastern Orthodox Church article about the Orthodox counts listed there. In discussion with another editor, he had the idea of providing a warning to readers about the soft nature of the numbers and their accuracy, and I had the thought that a little material that covered some of the difficulties in obtaining good numbers might be of use in putting them into perspective. So, I thought I'd come to you and ask if you had any notion where some sources for that material might be found, at least for Russia. I'm figuring that Russia itself might be the likeliest place to look, but I don't speak the language. Would you have any leads? Even better, would you like to lend a hand? Thanks! Asian 10,000 Challenge invite

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! Do you have a source that confirms the "Mid-life refit", scheduled for 2012 was delayed, cancelled or rescheduled for a later date? If so, then that could be mentioned within the section, with the ref.

But adding "(did not occur)", in brackets, to the section heading not only appears as original research, but it also looks somewhat shoddy. Thanks - wolf 05:18, 13 December 2018 (UTC)

Greetings, I am about this edit. You claim that "raspil" (wikt:ru:распил) literally means "to drink away"). This, of course, is not the case, because budgets are sawing, not drinking. Because you claim to be fluent in Russian and watch the entire conversation in Russian ([1]), this edit looks very weird. Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. You appear to be repeatedly reverting or undoing other editors' contributions at Alexei Navalny. Although this may seem necessary to protect your preferred version of a page, on Wikipedia this is known as "edit warring" and is usually seen as obstructing the normal editing process, as it often creates animosity between editors. Instead of reverting, please discuss the situation with the editor(s) involved and try to reach a consensus on the talk page.

If editors continue to revert to their preferred version they are likely to lose their editing privileges on that page. This isn't done to punish an editor, but to prevent the disruption caused by edit warring. In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount, and violating the three-revert rule is very likely to result in loss of your editing privileges. Grigoriy Istoma and Novaya Zemlya

Hello, a long time ago you added information to List of Arctic expeditions claiming that Istoma explored the western coast of Novaya Zemlya. I can't find any source for this, and it seems off as (as far as I understand) all Istoma did was travel westwards along the coast from the White Sea? My Russian is terrible, but I couldn't find anything in ru:Истома, Григорий to suggest he went that far east. Happy to be corrected if I am mistaken. —Kusma (talk) 10:37, 19 November 2021 (UTC)

@Kusma: I think you are right. This is a reliable source in Russian which treats Istoma's travels in detail, and Novaya Zemlya is not mentioned, there are no hints that he ever travelled east of White Sea.--Ymblanter (talk) 10:59, 19 November 2021 (UTC)

My source for adding Istoma was the huge exhaustively researched Atlas of the World Ocean (several volumes) published under the overall editorial oversight of FADMSU Sergey Gorshkov. The volume on the Arctic contains a section with detailed charts showing the various voyages of discovery over the history of expeditions in the Arctic.Moryak (talk)

Hello. Your recent edit to Marin Catholic High School appears to have added the name of a non-notable entity to a list that normally includes only notable entries. In general, a person, organization or product added to a list should have a pre-existing article before being added to most lists. If you wish to create such an article, please first confirm that the subject qualifies for a separate, stand-alone article according to Wikipedia's notability guideline. Thank you. I do not believe that Wikipedia and specifically an anonymous editor such as yourself are in a position to judge who should be considered "notable" in the context of a page addressing a high school. Notable high school graduates do not have to achieve national "notability" per Wikipedia in order to be considered "notable" within the context of the high school which they attended.

It strikes me that your comments have overreached reasonability within the context of the topic. What if the Marin Catholic WIKI page were to title the relevant section "Distinguished Alumni" - would that "unlatch" your attempt to dictate content?Moryak (talk) 22:22, 21 November 2022 (UTC)

"Notable alumni" is the standard school article heading, and with very limited exceptions we do not list alumni unless they have a Wikipedia article establishing their notability, and a reference for their attendance. Since you are the alumnus in question you should not attempt to write the article. This is a long-steading consensus on school articles, not something I am "attempting to dictate", and I find your wording to be verging on a personal attack. Please read WP:NPA.
