List of Chris Evans performances
editHey there! So I see you're adding references to Chris Evans' list - I will tell you that the references need to reference him, the title AND his characters name - not just the title. And I wouldn't use more than 2 references unless you have to, just not necessary to have it referenced more than once. Let me know if you need help :) I didn't want to add this to the comments for the FLC cause I still support it being considered a FL. LADY LOTUS • TALK 22:06, 8 January 2020 (UTC)
- @Lady Lotus: Thanks for letting me know. I believe all the films are properly cited now, though on some of the more obscure titles there may be concerns about the sources not being reliable enough. If you feel like cross-referencing the sources to make sure the list is adequately cited I would appreciate it, but don't feel obligated to. Thanks! Morgan695 (talk) 01:14, 9 January 2020 (UTC)
- I looked through them and did some tweaking - removed some sources that were redundant, if you already have a reliable source citing he's was in a movie, no need to have another referencing the same thing. I think where it is now is good to go, there might be a few tweaks I missed - unlinking publishers that have already been linked once, etc. I would suggest reaching out to one of the delegates for FLC and seeing if they might add some opinions or close it out and promote it. Cherry Falls
editHi.
I see you undid my edit to the page https://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/List_of_Chris_Evans_performances
The edit I did was to remove Cherry Falls from the list. This is because the 'Christopher Evans' who played the part of Young Tom in Cherry Falls was not actually the Chris Evans who is the subject of this list, which is actually a pretty good one.
I presume this is because I didn't put a reference. Sorry for that. It's partly down to my lack of experience but also I'm not sure what references to put.
I am one of the runners of http://chris-evans.boards.net which is a career based fansite and I know my stuff about Chris's career. I did check to make sure I was correct to the point of watching Cherry Falls all the way through to verify Chris Evans is not in it. Unfortunatley, I haven't been able to actually find a picture of Christopher Evans or an article in which someobody expressly points out it isn't Chris Evans of Captain America fame.
So, as it is now, this very good resource for people looking up info on Chris Evans is spoiled by a glaring inaccuracy. It seems I can't correct it unless I can prove it's incorrect. I can't do that so I'll leave it as it is.
I'll just put a notice on our site and on Twitter that it's a mistake. Maybe you could use that as a reference. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Blotski (talk • contribs) 18:28, 22 January 2020 (UTC)
- @Blotski: The role is listed on his NYT filmography and in the sources provides, and a fansite would not qualify as a reliable source per WP:RS, so the role should remain on the list. Evans is credited in this still frame on IMDB, perhaps you could review that scene and see if his face is visible? Morgan695 (talk) 02:40, 23 January 2020 (UTC)
Blotski (talk) 18:45, 23 January 2020 (UTC)== Cherry Falls 2 ==
Sorry, I'm so shit at this that I don't know how to reply to your message without just starting a new one.
Anyway, thanks for your reply and I understand your point. I am, however, 100% sure that Chris did not appear in Cherry Falls. Neither did he appear in Perfect Assassins, another incorrect entry quoting an equally incorrect source. The link to the IMDb you gave me is clearly a different actor if you read it. Christopher Evans and Chris Evans are two (possibly three) different people. https://www.imdb.com/name/nm1222918/ In this source, the actor is also listed as making another film called No Retreat from Destiny. Clearly not a film Chris Evans was ever associated with. What is more, the name of the actor would appear as a link, which is the case for anytime Chris Evans is referenced on IMDb. It is not actually suggested by IMDb that Christopher Evans and Chris Evans are one and the same. It is an incorrect presumption.
The NYT filmography is unreliable as it contains 3 errors. Not only does it wrongly credit this performance to Chris but adds another TV performance that he did NOT do yet misses out one that he DID do and is well known for. This just shows how the internet works sometimes. One person gets something wrong and it's then passed on and repeated with the second referencing the first as a source. The system breaks down when you accept sources as correct without question which you have done. It's also ironic that a list drawn up by a journalist who may well have just googled his/her research carries more weight than a group of people who have been following his career for a decade. Chris Evans Forum is probably the most extensive and accurate archive of Evans information on the internet. "Fansite" doesn't quite cover its scope.
If I get time I'll try and take a screenshot of the Christopher Evans in Cherry Falls but I actually feel I've done all I can. I've pointed out the error and can do no more.
The situation is slightly ridiculous to be honest. I don't blame you at all. You're just following correct procedure. But it's been an eye opener to me how easily falsehoods can spread and how difficult it can be to disprove them. The fact remains that the information is wrong and the sources quoted may well be official but they are unreliable in the case of NYT and misread in the case of IMDb.
The best I can do is to offer links with other reliable filmographies none of which mention Cherry Falls or Perfect Assassins. One of them is IMDb which backs up my assertion that IMDb never implies that Chris Evans and Christopher Evans are the same people. Chris Evans has never appeared under the name Christopher Evans in anything he has ever done. That alone should have made people check their facts.

- @Blotski: If you have concerns about the article's accuracy, I would voice them on the article's talk page. I can't provide a remedy because the only point of reference I have is the sources I found when writing the article, which say that Evans appeared in those movies, but you can discuss the matter with other editors there and build consensus about any action to be taken. Morgan695 (talk) 03:37, 24 January 2020 (UTC)
Thanks for the advice. This would appear to be a major weakness with Wiki. People’s edits will stand if you can quote a source even if that source is wrong. Proving it’s wrong is harder. It’s put you in the unenviable position of defending inaccuracies. Blotski (talk) 08:51, 24 January 2020 (UTC)
PS I am surprised that the thought that Chris Evans would randomly call himself Christopher Evans, something he has never done before or since, didn’t give you cause to look for further sources to ensure they were the same people. As it is the overwhelmingly majority of published filmographies including IMDb are correct by not including the mistake. You’d eventually realise you’ve been misled. This otherwise excellent is spoiled. You should delete them yourself to be honest. Blotski (talk) 09:09, 24 January 2020 (UTC)

Money Jane
editHi! Regarding your comment, I have been searching on the Internet but I could not find anything. I don't want to be pessimist, but the older the single, the harder is to find sources about it. Since this is an early 2000's song, it's really difficult to find sources talking about the release, because the Internet was not as big back then as it is today. Probably information about the song was published in a physical music magazine and never posted online. For future articles about old singles, you can search on the books option of the Google, searching the name of the song and the artist (like this), but I think that you already did that since some books from Google are used on Money Jane. Another trick that you could use is searching on Google for "the name of the single + the artist name" and personalize the results date in the tool options, selecting results from the year the single was probably released. I tried doing this, selecting results only from 1 January 2000 to 1 January 2002. The only relevant article that I found about the song was this one about its success in MuchMusic.
Asking your question, you can usually search on Amazon, Allmusic and iTunes for release dates. From Amazon you can't include on the article the user's reviews of the product. You can also use Discogs indirectly and search for information about physical releases, many of the times they have photos of the albums with the code of release (ISBN), which is what you can use as a source (just what I suggest you to do for the Money Jane article).
Regarding the charts, you can use acharts.co. It archives the songs' performances on many charts around the world. The only charts you can't use from said website are the World Singles and Albums charts, the US Airplay 100, the Italian Album and Singles, the Portugal Singles and the Bulgaria Singles. The official chart from Portugal is this, the official chart for Italy is this and for Bulgaria is this. For the Billboard charts, you can use any artist chart history, this is one example of that. For more information about charts you can't use, read WP:BADCHARTS, and for other recommended charts, read WP:GOODCHARTS. If you have any other doubt, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Regards!, Paparazzzi (talk) 06:25, 2 March 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks! I appreciate it. Yeah, I ran it through Google Books and found that article as well, but it's from a student newspaper so I'm not sure it qualifies as a reliable source. Thanks again! Morgan695 (talk) 15:32, 2 March 2020 (UTC)
- Is it a student newspaper? Then sadly, you can't use it. Regards, Paparazzzi (talk) 21:09, 2 March 2020 (UTC)

- Do you have a preference for where this GA is listed at Wikipedia:Good articles/all? You nominated it under "Media and drama" where I'd probably put it under "Animation" – or it could alternatively go under "Language and literature" > "Genres and literary theory", which already has Comics and Canadian comics. What do you think? (BTW, this is my quickest pass for a GA.) – Reidgreg (talk) 16:26, 29 April 2020 (UTC)
- @User:Reidgreg I'm flattered! "Genres and literary theory" is probably the most accurate. Morgan695 (talk) 16:35, 29 April 2020 (UTC)

McHanzo
editHello. I wanted to ask about how to proceed with the article on McHanzo. The first user to object to its existence said that it should be merged was Sergecross73, and that it should be merged to Overwatch, only to then state they don't really care where it's merged to. TenTonParasol did raise some better and more extensive points, but I'm still not sure if just one user's beliefs about the article are enough. They did have another user agree with them, but it's essentialy 1 keep (mine) vs. 3 mergers; with 1 user just supporting another, and neither really being sure where the article should even be merged to. The reason I bring this up is because I noticed you edited the "Template:Fan fiction" to include McHanzo and that a consesus wasn't achieved. Is that really the case? Given what I brought up above and that fact that more than a month has passed since those discussions were brought up, I'd lean more towards just keeping the article. In which case, I'm not sure if I realyl have the authority to just archive the discussion and remove the two boxes from the page. PanagiotisZois (talk) 13:00, 24 May 2020 (UTC)
- @User:PanagiotisZois Maybe refer the article to a peer review? As it stands right now I concur with TenTonParasol that the article doesn't meet the threshold for notability. My tentative feeling is that any article on a ship would need significant and specific coverage in mainstream secondary sources and academic research; as TenTonParasol states the article as it stands merely establishes that the ship is popular, which is true of hundreds of others ships that don't merit their own Wikipedia article. About Given (Manga)
editGood morning. I hope you're all right.
I've read comments from people who are confused since in Wikipedia (a reliable encyclopedia) they have read that Given is of the yaoi genre, when it really isn't.
Given has no explicit sexual content, therefore, it's shōnen-ai.
Go to this link: https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/this-week-in-anime/2019-08-13/.149995
It is the same one they have used as a reference to determine that Given is "yaoi". When you are on the page, click on the words boys love in the first paragraph. You will be redirected to the concept that Anime News Network handles. The result is shōnen-ai. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2800:4F0:521:5C40:4C48:ECBF:3654:B9F3 (talk) 14:36, 7 July 2020 (UTC)
