Howdy Mailer! Thilled as I was when you blocked the above vandal, I've been thinking that maybe an indef block is too harsh. Maybe reduce it a bit, or remove the block? It's been nearly a month... Not that I'm trying to get in the way of how you do things, and I'm grateful that you blocked him at all, but it's just been on my mind. But please don't take this as my meddling with the way you admin, and if you think that the block should stay then by all means, leave it be. I don't have the slightest problem with that. Here's hoping you don't think I'm stepping on your toes... :) Blackcap (talk) 00:50, 5 January 2006 (UTC)
- Yeah, you're probably right. I figured I'd best clear my mind about it, that's all. Thanks for the help! Blackcap (talk) 01:40, 5 January 2006 (UTC)

The Bus Pictures
editThanks for the clarification. I've reverted {No source} tags — I had applied the tag because the image summary didn't explicitly state the picture has been created by the uploader himself/herself. Merely applying a copyright tag normally isn't complete enough; the reason the particular tag has been selected needs to be stated. But I will leave it to you from now on. --BorgQueen 08:03, 8 January 2006 (UTC)

Re: Bus Images
editThanks for that! I'm not particularly familiar with Commons, so that was very helpful. I (obviously) had no problem with the images themselves, but I feared they were taking over the articles and becoming more "photo albums" than encyclopedic entries. I certainly have utmost respect for the quality of the photos and the captions, and would quite happily browse through them, but at the end of the day Wikipedia is where people come to learn and find out, so it has to be set for the whole audience. --Ayrshire--77 13:08, 8 January 2006 (UTC)

editFrancs2000's BureaucratshipThanks for your support on my request for bureaucratship.
The final outcome was (70/5/0), so I am now a bureaucrat. I seriously didn't expect so many good comments from everybody and I appreciated the constructive criticism from those that gave it. editI appreciate you taking time to re-work your statement and answers, but, unfortunately, those were not the only reasons why I opposed (I tried to keep my comments brief). Sorry!—Ëzhiki (erinaceus amurensis) 16:04, 10 January 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for getting back about my vote. It is indeed the few questions that you've answered which has led me to oppose for now. If you look at some of the candidates who declared early, they have a lot of general questions placed there which it might be worth your while to copy over and answer - I promise to reconsider without prejudice if you do. Deletion of Alton Towers Link
editHi,
On the Alton Towers Page on Wikipedia, there used to be a link to a site called Talk Towers at the bottom under 'External Links' could you tell me how this got deleted and who by?
Also, could another link be placed to Talk Towers their?
Thanks! (Tom 12:44, 22 January 2006 (UTC))
Thanks!
editThanks for your help getting me sorted... with the links on my Talk page! Thank You very much!
Just concluding the Talk Towers 'problem', a link was already on the Alton Towers site, however it is no longer there any more?
Can you/I find out who deleted it and why?
Also, the Article here, can this be deleted as it is bad for business!
Thanks again, Mailer Diablo,
Please reply on my talk page!
Tom 17:54, 22 January 2006 (UTC)
Someone has attempted to circumvent the deletion of the article Robin Artisson by posting a sour grapes diatribe-- apparently from the subject of the non-notable article-- on the former article's talk page, which this person re-created in order to post. I "reverted" the edit by blanking out the talk page. You might want to remove the talk page again via a speedy delete. -- SwissCelt 04:48, 23 January 2006 (UTC)

I'm wanting to start editing articles to do with novels, firstly i want to create more 'in depth' character studies for 'Of Mice and Men' here, however, i've noticed the Cleanup Banner. What exactly does this mean? And how do i know what to clean up?

An Esperanzial note
editAs I remember, the last spam that was handed out was on the 20th of December last year, so I think it's time for another update. First and foremost, the new Advisory Council and Administrator General have been elected. They consist of myself as Admin General and FireFox, Titoxd, Flcelloguy and Karmafist as the Advisory Council. We as a group met formally for the first time on the 31st of Decembe. The minutes of this meeting can be found at WP:ESP/ACM. The next one is planned for tonight (Sunday 29 January) at 20:30 UTC and the agenda can be found at WP:ESP/ACM2.
In other news, Karmafist has set up a discussion about a new personal attack policy, which it can be found here. Other new pages include an introductory page on what to do when you sign up, So you've joined Esperanza... and a welcome template: {{EA-welcome}} (courtesy of Bratsche). Some of our old hands may like to make sure they do everything on the list as well ;) Additionally, the userpage award program proposal has become official is operational: see Wikipedia:Esperanza/User Page Award to nominate a userpage or volunteer as a judge. Also see the proposed programs page for many new proposals and old ones that need more discussion ;)
Other than that, I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and wish you an Esperanzially good new WikiYear :D Thank you! --Celestianpower háblame 16:57, 29 January 2006 (UTC)

I'll try to live up to the expectations; and on that note, if there's ever something I do wrong (or don't do right), please spit in my general direction. editWhy, Diablo, did you remove the note about EffK's vandalism. Do you say that nothing will be done about it? He is continuing it, also under his IP User:159.134.212.151. Str1977 15:19, 4 February 2006 (UTC)
Oh, I didn't see that. But anyway, he is still on the prowl as [1]. He might also appear as User:Flamekeeper, User:Famekeeper, User:Fiamekeeper, User:Corecticus or User:PureSoupS. Str1977 15:26, 4 February 2006 (UTC)
Thanks. Str1977 15:27, 4 February 2006 (UTC)
Notorius: yes (that's why he is under Arbitration). Sockpuppets: not really. His use of names is akin to "serial monogamy". He uses one for a while and than drops it. He claims he has lost the relevant cookies. That might be true in some cases but not in others. Recently he has "found" a long-lost cookie again and posted on one page using a different name for each sentence, as a sort of farewell show. He is about to be banned from WP but appearently he wants to have fun during his last days. Str1977 15:33, 4 February 2006 (UTC)
- Now perhaps you understand why Str1977 and I have found it necessary to take him to request the ArbCom to ban him. Thank you. Robert McClenon 19:27, 4 February 2006 (UTC)
User Page award
editCongratulations, Mailer diablo/Archive H! Your user page has been nominated for the Esperanza User Page Award! Five judges will look over your user page and award it 1-10 points in four categories:
- Attractiveness: general layout, considering colour scheme and/or use of tables if applicable
- Usefulness: links to subpages or editing aids, helpful information
- Interesting-ness: quirky, unique, captivating, or funny content
- General niceness: at the judges' discretion
But first, you must be chosen as a finalist. If your user page is chosen as one of the five finalists, you'll have the chance to win an award created just for having a great user page!
More information can be found on this page.

You may be a racist. You may hate Africans. You deleted my article for no reason. Those comment were written before I changed my content you had no right to delete it. Unlike you I will deal with this in a civilized manner for now until I here from wikipedia.Greg Reese
Your are a racist. You Help some and delete the others. And since you do not know if I'm black, white chineese or Haitian I believe you deleted it because the woman was black and she was helping Africans. It does matter home many Awands you have you cannot judge people by their skin color. You should be ashamed

My Article Was a Dawnyell Alexander Article and I am Greg Reese
Just because you know the system better than I do doesn't mean I can't learn it. Dawnyell Alexander is a notable person doing notable things working with notable people and places. She's Helping to feed lost souls in Africa. Her article should stand.
Greg Reese
Eveything I wrote was true verifiable and non biased
That was because I had just started learning wikipedia but those deletion comments stopped on the 31st. I kept editing so someone could have delete it if it were non-scene. Others chose not to but five days later you chose to delete it.WHY? If I set one of your pages for deletion and five days later someone deleted it would that be a correct way to deal with this matter if you didn't even talk to the publisher?
But I will leave it in the hands of Wikipdia I sent them an E mail so we shall see.
