hello I'm curious as to a page I read said you were last to edit. But I found a bottle of cologne from my late grandpa. And while doing research I've come across this Paul andre or andre Paul.
Which the bottle is signed by. It also has the name Corre on it which I also saw in the article. Plus the name" Michel" coincidence? Idk. But I'm curious as to where this came from. And I literally can't find anything about it. Can you help? Did this person perhaps maybe develop a cologne or what have you back then?
How could a local chapter assist the copyright donation process?
editHi mailer diablo,
My name is Liang, and I am a board member from Wikimedia Taiwan. We are encountering an issue with OTRS now. Here's the story-- There is a family in our city who get in touch with our chapter, they meet us in person and express that their passed away father left a Taiwanese-Mandarin Dictionary. Their father authorize the dictionary to be printed in paper by a local publisher in 2000 here, and now the copyright is back to the family. Few weeks ago the family contacted Reke, our secretariat of the chapter, to express they want their father's work to be released on Wikimedia projects. They wish to make the work as accessible as possible.
This is a really exciting news for us in the chapter. There are programmer who is working on the modification of the printing files to Wiki source, and there are also some culture events ideas are brainstormed for demonstrating the way to use the dictionary. However, we are not quite sure how to handle this properly with the OTRS process.
Since the members in the family are all elders, it's highly difficult for them to use email to conduct the OTRS process. In the consent email template on Wikicommons, we found the following description: "If you are releasing a work that is not available online, you may be required to provide proof of your identity. If you are releasing a work where you are acting on the copyright holder's behalf, you may be required to provide proof of authorization to work on the copyright holder's behalf." Looks like we can provide some documents to the OTRS team without their direct email, is it correct? If so, then could you give us some previous cases or the paper consent template to show us what kind of "useful proofs" we should provide to the OTRS team.
Thank you for your patience and we are looking for your feedback.
Best,
Liang (WMTW) (talk) 05:08, 31 January 2015 (UTC)

editOn 25 April 2015, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Protection from Harassment Act 2014, which you recently created or substantially expanded. Atomic Nucleus
editIn the second paragraph of this article, it states; the ratio of the nucleus of a hydrogen atom to it's overall size is 145,000:1. This does not compute; the nuclear diameter is 1.75x 10(to-15)M and the overall diameter is 40x 10(to-12)M this calculates to be 22,800:1 which is within 2.5% of the 23,300:1 ratio for U238!!!!!!!! This is a major error and very misleading. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.111.152.46 (talk) 10:56, 28 May 2015 (UTC)

Your assistance please...
editYou closed Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Church Street as delete.
Could you please restore the revision history?
Almost ten years or so ago a small handful of contributors made a flood of nominations, and another flood of unilateral merges and redirections of articles on Toronto streets and roadways. Reviewing those AFD I see quite a few questionable arguments. I see the nominators claiming the deletions were based on policy, but most of their claims seemed specious, based on hand-waving, not based on policy at all.
In this AFD two of the respondents said "Delete this article on a Church Street, because, so far as I am concerned, the only notable Church Street is my local Church Street." If I were an administrator, and I had closed this AFD, I would have put on my hat as an educator, and explicitly stated I had discounted these opinions where were classic examples of the kinds of bad arguments warned about in WP:Arguments to Avoid.
It is almost ten years later, and almost all the deleted articles are now redirects, or have been turned back into meaningful articles. I've turned a dozen or so of them back into meaningful articles myself, and would have found this a lot easier if I had the original revision history to start from.
If those deletions were done today there is a good chance the deleting administrator would have left the revision history visible, for just this reason. Almost all the roads deleted in this flood of AFD measure up to our notability criteria. Almost all the deletions were made because the 2006 versions were badly written, lacked references, and lacked other information that established their notability. Nevertheless, articles on topics that are notable, should be deleted cautiously, when the sole problem lies with the current article being poorly written or otherwise falling short of our standards.
Restoration of the revision history assists anyone who wants to write an article that does measure up to the standards of 2015.
So, could you please restore the revision history?
Thanks Geo Swan (talk) 20:42, 25 June 2015 (UTC)
- WRT my request for restoration of the revision history of Church Street (Toronto) -- could you please be explicit here? Did you simply overlook this request? Or did you wish me to interpret your missing reply as your way of telling me to make my request at DRV?
- Personally, if you think you had a good reason why you shouldn't agree to restore the history, I would prefer you share it with me now. If I am convinced we will be saving the time and energy of all those fine people who would have ended up reading my request, if you hadn't talked me out of it. This is a message from the Wikimedia Foundation. Translations are available.
As you may know, the Wikimedia Foundation Board of Trustees approved a new "Access to nonpublic information policy" on 25 April 2014 after a community consultation. The former policy has remained in place until the new policy could be implemented. That implementation work is now being done, and we are beginning the transition to the new policy.
An important part of that transition is helping volunteers like you sign the required confidentiality agreement. All Wikimedia volunteers with access to nonpublic information are required to sign this new agreement, and we have prepared some documentation to help you do so.
The Wikimedia Foundation is requiring that anyone with access to nonpublic information sign the new confidentiality agreement by 15 December 2015 (OTRS users have until 22 December 2015) to retain their access. You are receiving this email because you have access to nonpublic information and are required to sign the confidentiality agreement under the new policy.
Signing the confidentiality agreement for nonpublic information is conducted and tracked using Legalpad on Phabricator. The general confidentiality agreement is now ready, and the OTRS agreement will be ready after 22 September 2015. We have prepared a guide on Meta-Wiki to help you create your Phabricator account and sign the new agreement: Confidentiality agreement for nonpublic information/How to sign
If you have any questions or experience any problems while signing the new agreement, please visit this talk page or email me (gvarnum wikimedia.org). Again, please sign this confidentiality agreement by 15 December 2015 (OTRS users have until 22 December 2015) to retain your access to nonpublic information. If you do not wish to retain this access, please let me know and we will forward your request to the appropriate individuals.
Thank you,

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Recent Edits to "The Battle of Nordlingen 1634"
editDear Sirs,
I have over the past few days made numerous edits to Wiki's "The Battle of Nordlingen 1634".
New information was added from Cecily V. Wedgwood's "The Thity Years War". A number of tweaks were made, mostly to improve usage.
I should mention my footnotes appear in the main body. What remains to be done is to integrate these in the proper order to the existing footnote section and then add the source to the bibliography as well.
Sincerely,

I am interested in write wiki in Ban Nan gu (Taiwanese)and it is sure that its website has 44000 information there. But I found that it was too low-quality for its page. And I try to fix that. But I couldn't since it's system use Roma alphabet, not for Chinese word. You are Singapore people, right?Perhaps you can speak a little Taiwanese. It is quite strange for China or Taiwan people to read Roma alphabet. We can't read it and that's why Ban Nan gu's quality was so low. I hope you can help to change the Ban Nan gu's system and policy. For Roma alphabet to Chinese word.Whatever, please communicate with me.Thanks!! — Preceding unsigned comment added by A9b6008 (talk • contribs) 15:58, 28 November 2015 (UTC)
Canadian Maple Leaf Coins
editArticle is found at: https://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Canadian_Silver_Maple_Leaf
This statement is no longer true, and contradicts information in the article itself:
"In 2005, the Liberation of the Netherlands triple privy silver Maple Leaf—the rarest of all Silver Maple Leaf coins—was struck by the Royal Canadian Mint for the Royal Dutch Mint."
It is wrong, because in 2014 the Year of the Horse with Hieroglyphic Double Privy had a mintage of 1,000, while the 2005 issue referred to above had a mintage of 3,500.

The fact was ... that competition for the contract to build Singapore's first MRT trains (pictured) was so fierce that it involved last-minute discounts, offers of free parts, and allegations of sabotage? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Kawasaki Heavy Industries C151. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, daily totals), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page. |

Could you please give me some advice?
editHi, the administrator User: Ruud Koot made heavy edits to several articles regarding the Swarm Intelligence topic, removing a lot of scholarly material from many articles, and replacing it with negative remarks, often misrepresenting the content of his citations. There is no way to reinstate removed material as he promptly undoes any changes, he has semi-protected Swarm Intelligence to further hinder changes, he has investigated for socketpuppetry everybody who has contested his changes, and blocked indefinitely without any prior warning an inexperienced user (User talk:Aheedar) for procedural reasons (multiple tagging) and alleged personal attacks.
I have contested to no avail the scientific accuracy and neutral point of view of his changes in Talk:List of metaphor-based metaheuristics, Talk:Swarm intelligence, Talk:Bees algorithm.
I reported him to Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents for his behaviour. His defence was mud-slinging, presenting myself and other colleagues who objected to his changes as single-purpose citation spammers with a conflict of interest. My conflict of interest, if any, is that I am trying to disseminate some of the knowledge I gained in 20 years of research. I did cite in good faith some of my works (6 out of 31 citations in Bees algorithm, 1 out of 2 citations added to Swarm Intelligence), and stated I don’t mind if they are removed.
As I have tried to explain in Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents, my concern is about him, admittedly not an expert, hijacking and slanting the presentation of a whole research field, and bullying whoever opposes his personal views. Somehow I feel most of his colleagues (with one notable exception) quickly dismissed my objections as those of a spammer.
As an OTRS volunteer, I would be grateful if you could give me an independent opinion/advice on the issue, and any suggestion on what to do.
Thanks Marco castellani 1965 (talk) 02:10, 30 August 2016 (UTC)
Another senior admin had a look at the issue, I believe some of the main problems were addressed. Thanks Marco castellani 1965 (talk) 10:46, 31 August 2016 (UTC)
Extended confirmed protection
editHello, Mailer diablo. This message is intended to notify administrators of important changes to the protection policy.
Extended confirmed protection (also known as "30/500 protection") is a new level of page protection that only allows edits from accounts at least 30 days old and with 500 edits. The automatically assigned "extended confirmed" user right was created for this purpose. The protection level was created following this community discussion with the primary intention of enforcing various arbitration remedies that prohibited editors under the "30 days/500 edits" threshold to edit certain topic areas.
In July and August 2016, a request for comment established consensus for community use of the new protection level. Administrators are authorized to apply extended confirmed protection to combat any form of disruption (e.g. vandalism, sock puppetry, edit warring, etc.) on any topic, subject to the following conditions:
- Extended confirmed protection may only be used in cases where semi-protection has proven ineffective. It should not be used as a first resort.
- A bot will post a notification at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard of each use. MusikBot currently does this by updating a report, which is transcluded onto the noticeboard.
Please review the protection policy carefully before using this new level of protection on pages. Thank you.
This message was sent to the administrators' mass message list. To opt-out of future messages, please remove yourself from the list. 17:48, 23 September 2016 (UTC)

editTwo-Factor Authentication now available for admins
editHello,
Please note that TOTP based two-factor authentication is now available for all administrators. In light of the recent compromised accounts, you are encouraged to add this additional layer of security to your account. It may be enabled on your preferences page in the "User profile" tab under the "Basic information" section. For basic instructions on how to enable two-factor authentication, please see the developing help page for additional information. Important: Be sure to record the two-factor authentication key and the single use keys. If you lose your two factor authentication and do not have the keys, it's possible that your account will not be recoverable. Furthermore, you are encouraged to utilize a unique password and two-factor authentication for the email account associated with your Wikimedia account. This measure will assist in safeguarding your account from malicious password resets. Comments, questions, and concerns may be directed to the thread on the administrators' noticeboard. A new user right for New Page Patrollers
editHi Mailer diablo.
A new user group, New Page Reviewer, has been created in a move to greatly improve the standard of new page patrolling. The user right can be granted by any admin at PERM. It is highly recommended that admins look beyond the simple numerical threshold and satisfy themselves that the candidates have the required skills of communication and an advanced knowledge of notability and deletion. Admins are automatically included in this user right.
It is anticipated that this user right will significantly reduce the work load of admins who patrol the performance of the patrollers. However, due to the complexity of the rollout, some rights may have been accorded that may later need to be withdrawn, so some help will still be needed to some extent when discovering wrongly applied deletion tags or inappropriate pages that escape the attention of less experienced reviewers, and above all, hasty and bitey tagging for maintenance. User warnings are available here but very often a friendly custom message works best.
If you have any questions about this user right, don't hesitate to join us at WT:NPR. (Sent to all admins).MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 13:47, 15 November 2016 (UTC)

Post-Factual News?
editHello,
I don't know who to complain to. Upon going to Wikipedia today, I was greeted by a fund-raising diatribe against "post-factual" news. Is Wikipedia joining the attack on independent and largely more truthful media sites like Breitbart and InfoWars? Have you joined the propaganda media including the NYT, Washington Post, CNN, and the other main-stream media? If so, you are very much risking the development of an alternative to Wikipedia and being consigned to a slow drift into irrelevance. with these MSM organizations. I suggest you back off and remain neutral in this matter.

Black Leather Jesus
editHi Mailer diablo. You deleted Black Leather Jesus per Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Black Leather Jesus way back in November 2007. The article was recreated in August 2015, apparently by someone associated with the group. It was almost immediately tagged for speedy per WP:A7, but that was removed by another editor. Not sure if this version is the same, better, or worse than the one you deleted, but it is not supported by any citations to reliable sources and looks, at least at first glance, like a candidate for WP:G4. Any suggestions on what to do here? Thanks in advance. -- Marchjuly (talk) 06:05, 14 December 2016 (UTC)
Nikoroman (talk · contribs), now marked as a sock of PhoenixS15, has been a prolific editor and creator of articles on firearms. As such, I've noticed his edits and all that I've looked at casually have appeared correct. Since the master account is known for vandalism, should I check those edits more carefully for obscure vandalism, hoaxes, or other non-obvious problems? I don't want to spend the time unnecessarily, but if it's a concern it might be easier to do while the contributions are fresh.Felsic2 (talk) 16:52, 21 December 2016 (UTC)
Deleted Page for BlankTV
editHi Diablo!
I'm Smitty from BlankTV. We're the Net's biggest indie music video channel, with over 18,000 music videos, 700,000 subscribers and over one billion videos shown. Sometime in 2006 it appears you deleted our page about BlankTV. Why? All the MTV, AllMusic, Vevo, all their pages are fine. We're a free independent alternative to those corporate-owned channels. We'd like to get that page re-instated, so we can update it with news about the channel and forthcoming movie. If you can please drop me a line at smitty@blanktv.com, I'llbe happy to provide any proof of our wonderful and continuing existence. Thanks, Smitty

Can you remove the protection on x86-64?
editLike it on the title... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 221.9.23.59 (talk) 13:32, 16 May 2017 (UTC)
- Please no. This IP is very likely a sockpuppet of Janagewen (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log), who received an indef block over two years ago for edit-warring, sockpuppetry, NOTHERE, etc. Since then he has piled up an impressive list of over 70 SP reports, nearly all confirmed. I've reported this one here and noted that it's in the same /19 IP4 group as many of Jan's other confirmed IP socks (see the archive, do a text search for 221.9) and geolocates to the same town in China. Other recent edits to x86-64 are from 119.53.96.1, Jan's other /19 IP group.
- Contrariwise, maybe you could SP talk:x86-64 as well - then at least we'd have some relief from the disruption and silliness while the SP folks clear their backlog, which is unfortunately extensive. Jeh (talk) 16:01, 16 May 2017 (UTC)

Toward that end, we have been working diligently to innovate portals, while building, updating, upgrading, and maintaining them. The project has grown to 80 members so far, and has become a beehive of activity.
Our two main goals at this time are to automate portals (in terms of refreshing, rotating, and selecting content), and to develop a one-page model in order to make obsolete and eliminate most of the 150,000 subpages from the portal namespace by migrating their functions to the portal base pages, using technologies such as selective transclusion. Please feel free to join in on any of the many threads of development at the WikiProject's talk page, or just stop by to see how we are doing. If you have any questions about portals or portal development, that is the best place to ask them.
If you would like to keep abreast of developments on portals, keep in mind that the project's members receive updates on their talk pages. The updates are also posted here, for your convenience.
Again, we can't thank you enough for your support of portals, and we hope to make you proud of your decision. Sincerely, — The Transhumanist 23:10, 25 May 2018 (UTC)

How can the Interaction Timeline be useful in reporting to noticeboards?
editHi Mailer diablo,
The Anti-Harassment Tools team built the Interaction Timeline to make it easier to understand how two people interact and converse across multiple pages on a wiki. The tool shows a chronological list of edits made by two users, only on pages where they have both made edits within the provided time range. Our goals are to assist users to make well informed decisions in incidents of user misconduct and to keep on-wiki discussions civil and focused on evidence.
We're looking to add a feature to the Interaction Timeline that makes it easy to post statistics and information to an on-wiki discussion about user misconduct. We're discussing possible wikitext output on the project talk page, and we invite you to participate! This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2018 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 19 November 2018 (UTC)
Help for an edit-a-thon
editHello Mailer diablo,
I'm admiral laksamana and I'm writing on behalf of a volunteer team assembled by the Singapore-based literary charity Sing Lit Station.
This is just to let you know we will be conducting an edit-a-thon this Saturday (1st December 2018). Our event will focus on editing and creating new articles for topics under or related to Singapore literature. We're a small team of around ten editors, some of whom have recently created Wikipedia accounts to participate. We expect to be making edits from 1000 hrs to 1800 hrs (UTC+8).
I've already had a look at WP:EDITATHON, and it seems we need not seek approval from a administrator to carry on. However, I'm keeping the Wikiproject Singapore admins like yourself in the loop, should anything like a mass IP block occur.
If there are any additional pointers you could help us out with, we would be extremely grateful for that.
Thank you for your time.
Regards,

Administrator account security (Correction to Arbcom 2019 special circular)
editArbCom would like to apologise and correct our previous mass message in light of the response from the community.
Since November 2018, six administrator accounts have been compromised and temporarily desysopped. In an effort to help improve account security, our intention was to remind administrators of existing policies on account security — that they are required to "have strong passwords and follow appropriate personal security practices." We have updated our procedures to ensure that we enforce these policies more strictly in the future. The policies themselves have not changed. In particular, two-factor authentication remains an optional means of adding extra security to your account. The choice not to enable 2FA will not be considered when deciding to restore sysop privileges to administrator accounts that were compromised.
We are sorry for the wording of our previous message, which did not accurately convey this, and deeply regret the tone in which it was delivered.
For the Arbitration Committee, -Cameron11598 21:03, 4 May 2019 (UTC)
Assistance, if you will
editI have decided after many years editing on Wikipedia that perhaps I should be an administrator. I am a retired professional editor with more than 35 years of editing experience in newspapers, magazines, books and websites. I owned a business for more than 16 years with a large staff and have years of working with people in achieving and problem solving. While I will admit the myriad problems with the writing in Wikipedia has frustrated me, I have come to embrace the efforts of amateur writers without training and education who contribute to the encyclopedia. There is no reason their writing should be in league with the professionals with whom I have worked, but their contributions are to be valued. My contribution is to come behind them and bring their writing into proper style and assist in ensuring facts are properly cited. I would also like to arbitrate in matters of contention to bring about an acceptable solution that values all who participate. Thank you for your assistance. — Preceding unsigned comment added by MarydaleEd (talk • contribs) 00:42, 9 May 2019 (UTC)

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:EZ-Link.jpg
editThank you for uploading File:EZ-Link.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.
If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.
This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:00, 3 June 2019 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of File:Ura logo.gif
editA tag has been placed on File:Ura logo.gif requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused duplicate or lower-quality copy of another file on Wikipedia having the same file format, and all inward links have been updated.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Syed (talk) 03:37, 20 July 2019 (UTC)

editSpeedy deletion nomination of Wikipedia:April Fools
editHello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice that Wikipedia:April Fools, a page that you created, has been tagged for deletion. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:
- The page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent. (See section G1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do.
- It is unambiguous vandalism or an obvious hoax. (See section G3 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please do not introduce inappropriate pages to Wikipedia. Doing so is considered to be vandalism and is prohibited. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Repeated vandalism may result in the loss of editing privileges.
- It is an "attack page", (See section G10 of the criteria for speedy deletion.)
Do not create pages that attack, threaten, or disparage their subject or any other entity. Attack pages and files are not tolerated by Wikipedia, and users who create or add such material may be blocked from editing
Special:WantedTemplates
editHi, I have been cleaning up Special:WantedTemplates and noticed that Special:WhatLinksHere/Template:"_+_"oldafdfull"_+_" is pointing to your monobook.js pages. clearly these are false positives (basically a bug in how WP parses .js pages). it would be really great if you could add // <syntaxhighlight lang=javascript>
to the top and // </syntaxhighlight>
to the bottom of those pages. by putting these tags in comments, it won't prevent the javascript from executing, but it will remove those pages from Special:WhatLinksHere/Template:"_+_"oldafdfull"_+_". alternatively, if you are no longer using the monobook skin (many people are using vector these days) and don't need to keep the old page, you could just have the page deleted. thank you in advance for your help. This editor has been creating, editing and nominating articles (I suspect for personal advocacy) on Wikipedia, such as Foreign Interference (Countermeasures) Act which was on WP:DYK today, as well as Kirsten Han, who is only notable for her opposition. I tried to engage this user, pointing out that the opinion section cannot have undue weight, but my NPOV article and section tags all got reverted and the only justification provided was that I was a vandal. User:Kingoflettuce then called me a "Boomer" and used "lmao" to respond to my comments (uncooperative and bordering on personal attacks), without even attempting to discuss anything on the respective talk pages, unlike me where I wrote my reasons for my edits. How we will see unregistered users
editHi!
You get this message because you are an admin on a Wikimedia wiki.
When someone edits a Wikimedia wiki without being logged in today, we show their IP address. As you may already know, we will not be able to do this in the future. This is a decision by the Wikimedia Foundation Legal department, because norms and regulations for privacy online have changed.
Instead of the IP we will show a masked identity. You as an admin will still be able to access the IP. There will also be a new user right for those who need to see the full IPs of unregistered users to fight vandalism, harassment and spam without being admins. Patrollers will also see part of the IP even without this user right. We are also working on better tools to help.
If you have not seen it before, you can read more on Meta. If you want to make sure you don’t miss technical changes on the Wikimedia wikis, you can subscribe to the weekly technical newsletter.
We have two suggested ways this identity could work. We would appreciate your feedback on which way you think would work best for you and your wiki, now and in the future. You can let us know on the talk page. You can write in your language. The suggestions were posted in October and we will decide after 17 January.
Thank you. /Johan (WMF)

Would you be able to help with reviewing a draft wikipedia page for Farisha Ishak?
editHi Mailer diablo,
I created an article for Farisha Ishak, a singer-songwriter who won the first season of the Final 1, and was signed to Hype Records. She then did hosting, acting, and advocacy work.
I created the article in January and it was quickly rejected. However, I made changes a few days later, but it has not been reviewed again since.
I cam across your username on the Wikiproject Singapore page, so I was hoping you may be able to help with getting the article reviewed?
Here is the link to the page: https://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Draft:Farisha_Ishak
If you have other tips or think another wikiproject page is better to ask for a review, please let me know.
Thank you!

Makks2010
editAlthough not political, aren't the tiger articles still within the topic area? Doug Weller talk 07:06, 21 April 2024 (UTC)
- Broadly construed, yes it is an Indian-related topic. I was thinking more about the SPI results than the topic ban itself, I did consider the indef option for all listed accounts. However, I thought that Makks2010 might not have understood the gravity of the situation and suggested going through the proper process regarding the topic ban. This does not prevent you from doing arbitration enforcement as the issuing admin, so feel free to block (timed or indef) if you feel that is necessary. In any case I suppose we will find out very quickly if Makks2010 is willing to comply with policy and the topic ban restrictions. - Mailer Diablo 08:33, 21 April 2024 (UTC)
- Despite being warned before they added copyvio to one of the tiger articles. I will give them another warning about the TB. Doug Weller talk 17:54, 22 April 2024 (UTC)
- I agree with MD. I think they still haven't understood the gravity of tban. I have tried explaining it to them (along with at least 3 sysops) about the ban. Looks like it's going to be a WP:ROPE soon :/ The Herald (Benison) (talk) 18:47, 22 April 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you Doug and Herald. Makks2010 hasn't edited since. I have a feeling something might be up and we probably can guess. In the meantime, keep a close watch on that list of articles. - Mailer Diablo 14:40, 23 April 2024 (UTC)

An article you recently created, MF 88, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Dan arndt (talk) 15:33, 11 May 2024 (UTC)
MF 88
editThe main point is that the article doesn't cite any references or sources - fails WP:GNG. It has been tagged as such since December 2018 (over 6 years) without any improvements. If some reliable independent secondary sources can be found and cited in the article then it can be moved back into the mainspace. 01:02, 13 May 2024 (UTC) Dan arndt (talk) 01:02, 13 May 2024 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Adolescent clique
editA tag has been placed on Adolescent clique requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:
Written largely without good quality sources. Article is very general and fails to go into any depth beyond simply listing cliques commonly portrayed in popular media
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, pages that meet certain criteria may be deleted at any time.
If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. recentlyryan RecentlyRyan 11:24, 18 May 2024 (UTC)

Invitation to participate in a research
editHello,
The Wikimedia Foundation is conducting a survey of Wikipedians to better understand what draws administrators to contribute to Wikipedia, and what affects administrator retention. We will use this research to improve experiences for Wikipedians, and address common problems and needs. We have identified you as a good candidate for this research, and would greatly appreciate your participation in this anonymous survey.
You do not have to be an Administrator to participate.
The survey should take around 10-15 minutes to complete. You may read more about the study on its Meta page and view its privacy statement .
Please find our contact on the project Meta page if you have any questions or concerns.
