WP:FOUR
Keep up the good work in terms of staying on top of this. Help me keep an eye on how many articles there are. I am trying to keep track of when we get to 200 articles or 100 different authors. Maybe we should keep a count on the page like WP:FA and WP:GA do for their counts.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 23:28, 7 September 2010 (UTC)
- No problem. Keeping a count sounds like a great idea; I spot 150 articles and 68 authors, but you may want to double check. Thanks, LittleMountain5 00:21, 8 September 2010 (UTC)
FLC
I nominated List of longest streams of Oregon just now, adding your name as a nominator. You might want to check what I said and perhaps add your sig with a date to the top. I added your name but couldn't exactly sign for you. Finetooth (talk) 17:14, 13 September 2010 (UTC)
- Great, I'll take a look. LittleMountain5 21:57, 13 September 2010 (UTC)

DYKs and longest streams
Congrats on the DYK for Silver Creek. Ruhrfisch kindly began creating stubs for the remaining redlinks in the List of longest streams of Oregon last evening, and I joined in, and we finished the lot. I had thought the redlinks would make a nice set of DYKs, and they still can, but they will have to be 5x expansions from here on out. Looks like we may have cleared the last of the big FLC hurdles. Finetooth (talk) 16:02, 21 September 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks, there should be four more of them in the near future. :) Great job to both of you for fixing the redlinks. Expanding the stubs shouldn't be too hard (for at least some of them...) The list has really come out nice; great idea and great work! Sincerely, LittleMountain5 22:02, 21 September 2010 (UTC)

Congrats
Congratulations on the flurry of stream DYKs. I also wanted to say that I was delighted to see that you had made the longest-streams map interactive. Wow! Finetooth (talk) 15:18, 27 September 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks! I thought it would be neat to be able to click on the streams straight from the map. It's fairly easy to do using this tool. Cheers, LittleMountain5 22:21, 27 September 2010 (UTC)
Panos
Sorry for the delayed response. For the most part I use PTGui to stitch my panoramas. I have an older version (6.0) and I'm sure the newest version is even better. Occasionally Photoshop CS3 does a better job so if I'm having trouble I'll give that a try as well. I didn't have much luck with Hugin; Panoweaver is too expensive and is geared to QTVR; AutoPano Pro is also too expensive. I found out about PTGui from User:Diliff who's work is utterly amazing.
I also recently purchased a Nodal Ninja and that has been a huge help to eliminate parallax errors when shooting panos of interiors and subjects that are close. Cacophony (talk) 05:57, 2 October 2010 (UTC)
- Thank you, although you already answered over a year ago. :) Cheers, LittleMountain5 17:15, 2 October 2010 (UTC)

The article Chetco River is scheduled to appear as the main page featured article in the near future
Hello! This is a note to let the main editors of this article know that it will be appearing as the main page featured article on October 28, 2010. You can view the TFA blurb at Wikipedia:Today's featured article/October 28, 2010. If you think that it is necessary to change the main date, you can request it with the featured article director, Raul654 (talk · contribs). If this article needs any attention or maintenance, it would be preferable if that could be done before its appearance on the Main Page so Wikipedia doesn't look bad. :D Thanks! TbhotchTalk C. 19:55, 18 October 2010 (UTC)
The Chetco River is a 56-mile (90 km) long stream located in the southwestern portion of the U.S. state of Oregon. It drains approximately 352 square miles (912 km2) of Curry County. Flowing through a rugged and isolated coastal region, it descends rapidly from about 3,200 feet (975 m) to sea level at the Pacific Ocean. The river's watershed was originally settled one to three thousand years ago by the Chetco and other Native American tribes. Several explorers, including Sir Francis Drake, George Vancouver, and Jedediah Smith visited the region between the 16th and 19th centuries. European American settlers arrived soon after gold and other precious metals were discovered in the 1840s and 1850s. The watershed remains largely undeveloped, protected by the Rogue River – Siskiyou National Forest and the Kalmiopsis Wilderness. The upper 45 miles (72 km) of the river have been designated Wild and Scenic since October 28, 1988. Supporting a large population of salmon and trout, the Chetco's water is of very high quality. The watershed is home to many other species, including several that are endemic to the Siskiyou Mountains area. The northernmost grove of Redwoods—the tallest trees on Earth—grow in the southern region of the Chetco's drainage basin. In total, the river is home to over 200 species of animals, and 97 percent of the watershed is forested. (more...)

- Will do, thanks. Yeah, first TFA (and probably last for a while... the other three really don't have any significant dates). Cheers, LittleMountain5 21:57, 19 October 2010 (UTC)

DYK nomination of Heppner Flood of 1903
Hello! Your submission of Heppner Flood of 1903 at the Did You Know nominations page has been reviewed, and there still are some issues that may need to be clarified. Please review the comment(s) underneath your nomination's entry and respond there as soon as possible. Thank you for contributing to Did You Know! - If you want more sources, I'd bet Google's News Archive has some period newspapers that covered it. Even if they aren't reliable for specific statistics, they allow you to give and cite a "general mood" surrounding the event. Ed [talk] [majestic titan] 09:03, 28 November 2010 (UTC)
- Good suggestion, thanks. LittleMountain5 00:53, 29 November 2010 (UTC)
DYK for Heppner Flood of 1903
On 29 November 2010, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Heppner Flood of 1903, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that with a death toll of 247 people, the Heppner Flood of 1903 (pictured) remains the deadliest natural disaster in Oregon, and the third deadliest flash flood in the entire United States? You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and add it to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. Thanks for your help at Mount Thielsen. In response to your question here, the information is just a general overview of the area around Thielsen, so it's not absolutely necessary, but I thought the section was a nice touch. ceranthor 00:58, 6 January 2011 (UTC)
- No problem! Great work on the article; with a bit more info I think it could pass FAC. Hopefully I can go through the rest of it over the next few days, and maybe find some more sources. As for the paragraph, it seems a bit off-topic, but I agree that it does add to the section. Cheers, LittleMountain5 22:58, 6 January 2011 (UTC)
- Cool, I could use any help I can get. ceranthor 14:01, 7 January 2011 (UTC)

Wikipedia Ambassador Program is looking for new Online Ambassadors
Hi! Since you've been identified as an Awesome Wikipedian, I wanted to let you know about the Wikipedia Ambassador Program, and specifically the role of Online Ambassador. We're looking for friendly Wikipedians who are good at reviewing articles and giving feedback to serve as mentors for students who are assigned to write for Wikipedia in their classes.
If that sounds like you and you're interested, I encourage you to take a look at the Online Ambassador guidelines; the "mentorship process" describes roughly what will be expected of mentors during the current term, which started in January and goes through early May. If that's something you want to do, please apply!
You can find instructions for applying at WP:ONLINE. The main things we're looking for in Online Ambassadors are friendliness, regular activity (since mentorship is a commitment that spans several months), and the ability to give detailed, substantive feedback on articles (both short new articles, and longer, more mature ones).
I hope to hear from you soon.--Sage Ross - Online Facilitator, Wikimedia Foundation (talk) 01:49, 1 February 2011 (UTC)This is an archive of past discussions with User:Little Mountain 5.
