Hi. As you recently commented in the straw poll regarding the ongoing usage and trial of Pending changes, this is to notify you that there is an interim straw poll with regard to keeping the tool switched on or switching it off while improvements are worked on and due for release on November 9, 2010. This new poll is only in regard to this issue and sets no precedent for any future usage. Your input on this issue is greatly appreciated. Off2riorob (talk) 23:35, 20 September 2010 (UTC)
good Articles
Sorry, I did not know you could not nominate those with tags on top. I'll leave a note on the other 3 . they seem to be okay. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tr33 swalow (talk • contribs) 19:28, 26 September 2010 (UTC)
- I do not know how those three articles do not qualify as "good". All of the criteria are followed in the Michelle Branch article. Allison Iraheta and {{Megan Joy]] follow most the criteria with possible problems in #3 and #4. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tr33 swalow (talk • contribs) 19:44, 26 September 2010 (UTC)

Um, Jewish is an ethnicity as well as a religion, last I heard. The category in question is about people who are ethnically Jewish, but not religiously so. On that basis, please reconsider your oppose vote Purplebackpack89 18:56, 29 September 2010 (UTC)

Willie Mount
Hi Hekerui. To answer your question, yes, I removed the "American businesspeople" category from Willie Mount. That category is grossly overpopulated and so broad that it's meaningless. In Mount's case this is a 24K byte article that includes the single following sentence about her business career: "She owned a small business and worked as a real estate agent and pharmaceutical representative for Lederle Laboratories." Mount did not create a notable American business, she is not notable as a businessperson, nor (based on the article) is her slight business experience even notable in her political career. With good humor, I stand by my edit. All best! --Lockley (talk) 17:54, 1 October 2010 (UTC)
M.S. Subbulakshmi
Hi. May I respectfully ask you to take another look at the site. The book on MS and Radha is not sold on this site. It is a book by Gowri Ramnarayan and the site simply refers the vistor to the home page of the Sruti magazine website if they are interested in the book. There is only one page in this site about the book. All the rest of the site is devoted to anecdotes, articles and pictures and recordings from private collections and family certainly content that would be of interest to wiki readers lookimg to learn more about MS. Sincerely VanDiyaDevan242 (talk) 15:24, 9 October 2010 (UTC)
Please see the thread below. Could I request you to add the link www.msstribute.com back to the M.S.Subbulakshmi external links?
"Thank you for deleting the spam link on this page. Was there a reason you did not add the link to www.msstribute.org? Please do take a look at this site. It has a lot of good information, pictures as well as articles and anecdotes by friends and family who knew MSS and musicians who accompanied her and would be a useful link to provide. VanDiyaDevan242 (talk) 13:17, 5 October 2010 (UTC)
After I completed your request for the M. S. Subbulakshmi article, another editor (User:Hekerui) conducted a cleanup of the external links of that page. Crittenden review
Thanks for your note. If you think it's intimidating to read and review the article, imagine slogging through a 480-page biography to write it! :) Hopefully, I can get the article to GA (for my Kentucky governors good topic) then to FA (to validate the ridiculous amount of reading I had to do). Savras
Hey there,
I understand being upset about this one being redirected (not merged). I felt that this was probably the best example of a D&D article written entirely from primary sources, and a sort of testament to the fact that it can be done. It's a lot harder work getting it done without any independent sources (you're missing compliments/criticism from outside people), but I feel it's still worthwhile to cover topics such as fictional characters, even if they do not meet the GNG and maybe never will. You did good work on Savras all the same, and I wondered why you never did that with any other articles, but it's not hard to understand considering that other people are always trying to impose the GNG on editors who like to work on ficitional character articles.
I know this editor previously merged nearly all of the Forgotten Realms characters into the List of Forgotten Realms characters; I think he handled that merge much better because he actually merged the content in manually. I don't know why he did not do that with the various deity articles this time. Do you think it would be a good idea to have a page similar to that list, to more properly merge the deities into? BOZ (talk) 17:04, 15 October 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks for the kind words, as you said I kind of saw that coming at the time already so I didn't feel motivated (sorry for that), especially because I'm lacking in writing about fiction (and computer games, which is where the WP does well). Your idea would save content to check for the reader but it would end up looking like the List of Forgotten Realms characters and I'm not sure that format turned out so well. I look forward to only working on deletion-proof articles from now on :) Hekerui (talk) 17:25, 15 October 2010 (UTC)
- Well, if that be the case... :) Check out my recent thread regarding modules, and see what I did with The Temple of Elemental Evil yesterday, and what I'm about to do with Scourge of the Slave Lords! BOZ (talk) 17:35, 15 October 2010 (UTC)

Jack Conway page deleted material
Hekerui, you needed to explain yourself much better before you deleted all that material from the Jack Conway page. I'm not even sure what was meant by "rewrote badly formatted section for recentism", but please provide a more well thought out explanation if you think that material does not belong. I don't think you will win that argument, because the TV ad was easily one of the BIGGEST events of the campaign, if not the defining moment of the campaign, and I can provide lots of evidence to back this up, but you are free to let your opinions be known on the talk page. - Look it is really unacceptable for somone like your self with over 17K edits to not follow the rules, or be just plain lazy, as to why you placed two NPOV tags on the Conway page and not list why the tags are needed or try to fix what you feel is a problem...--Duchamps_comb MFA 23:07, 28 October 2010 (UTC)

- NO, we are discussing a content dispute not that uncommon for any page. Two NPOV tags are totally different, especially when the said content is not found on the page due to your deleting it. --As I have said before start a new section on the talk page an address why the tags are needed in your opinion--Duchamps_comb MFA 23:56, 28 October 2010 (UTC)

Pictures tagged and deleted due to copyright violations and missing evidence of permission
Hi Hekerui, I have noticed that many of my pictures had been tagged or deleted for the lack of copyright permission. I have contacted the staff and webmaster of which the picture was taken from throught e-mail. They have replied to me that I can use the picture. However, it is in an e-mail form. So what should I do to prove that it the pictures has been given permission? Also, the e-mail was written in Thai. Thank you ( Nogia123 (talk) 03:48, 9 November 2010 (UTC) )

This United States Congress image is in the public domain in the US. This may be because it is an official congressional portrait, because it was taken by an official employee of the Congress, or because it has been released into the public domain by a member of Congress. |

I enjoyed the cookies immensely - thank you! As of today, all U.S. Senators and Representatives, current and '-elect', have their CongLinks template filled out as completely as possible, in an effort to help constituents and journalists follow what these public servants are doing and saying. Almost all Reps have been formatted consistently, including their lede beginning with their position followed by their party affiliation - instead of the reverse as many were previously - to remind them they represent ALL their constituents, and their loyalty to their country comes before their loyalty to their party. Needless to say, I don't expect to see much difference in their behavior, but we'll see. ;-) Flatterworld (talk) 00:03, 18 November 2010 (UTC)

RE:
Well I would use Twinkle to make edit summaries to revert multiple edits, because sometimes it is very hard to revert multiple edits when a user has edited the page numerous times without using rollback. However my Twinkle has a glitch in it and no one seems to know the problem .Candyo32 13:35, 20 November 2010 (UTC)
- If you think its such a big deal, then report me if you wish, and have someone remove my rollback. All I do is try to improve coverage on Wikipedia and fend off bad edits. That's all. So if you think it is appropriate for my rollback to be removed on that rationale, then I'll just focus on my aspect here of improving articles, and leave stupid edits on pages. Candyo32 13:48, 20 November 2010 (UTC)
Hey Hekerui. I saw that you had taken at least a minor interest in United States Senate Democratic primary election in Pennsylvania, 2010 at that article's talk page, and also saw on your user page that you review GA nominations. I wondered if perhaps you'd like to conduct the review for my GAN on the primary article? You had already pointed out some things that could use improvement (the lack of page numbers on the non-web news sources, which I plan to fix this weekend have fixed) so I thought you seemed perfect to give it a thorough review. Let me know if you're interested. Thanks! — Hunter Kahn 17:08, 20 November 2010 (UTC)

Hello, Hekerui. You very kindly checked and, where necessary amended, the tagging on the images for Edward Elgar when that article was up for FAC. I now have one of his colleagues, Henry J. Brown
What are you opposed to being removed? Because I honestly can see anything of consequence that's been removed. The years of service from Dymally and Curb are not included on any governor's page and this one week vacancy before Newsom takes office will be removed by everybody else as soon as it ends. I'm truly not following your firm opposition to standardizing the infobox and making it easier to read and edit. Therequiembellishere (talk) 20:58, 3 January 2011 (UTC)
- It would be awful nice of you to respond back, and it would be even nicer if you would see that my edits do standardize the infobox by making it more legible for editing and remove something that you push for (term years for the deputies) which shouldn't be there and that the IP added the presidents to Brown's page, which shouldn't be there either. Instead of blindly berating me for working against you and blindy supporting someone else who does, it really would be nice of you to base it on merits.
