Speedy deletion nomination of List of accredited naturopathic medicine programs

edit

Hello GobsPint,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged List of accredited naturopathic medicine programs for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly indicate why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Should Medical laboratory credentials and certifications in the United States be merged?

edit

Hello. I noticed that the article you recently created, Medical laboratory credentials and certifications in the United States, seems to be very similar in content to the existing article List_of_professional_designations_in_the_United_States#Medicine_and_Health_Care. I wonder if the two articles should be merged, or is there a reason for them to both exist; do they somehow cover different material? Gronk Oz (talk) 07:29, 25 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

No,I would oppose a merge. It it comparable to Nursing credentials and certifications, which has its own article. There is also a standalone List of chiropractic credentials. A number of the laboratory designations are shared amongst the various certification boards. The list is incomplete, as it needs the list from American Society for Clinical Pathology#Certifications merged in as well. I've noticed a lack of articles on clinical laboratory topics here.GobsPint (talk) 15:08, 26 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Klbrain (talk) 08:19, 2 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Klbrain: - Thanks for the feedback. There are some starter pages about organizations that certify tens of thousands of people that are inherently notable, but there is just limited material. Sometimes short pages are appropriate.
I'm concerned the merger into Institute for Credentialing Excellence (ICE) makes that article unbalanced as it certifies dozens of organizations. GobsPint (talk) 03:23, 3 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
I see your point. However, there's plenty of space on Institute for Credentialing Excellence to merge the others in, or to create new content. Two sentences of prose and a short table (which may be better formatted as a short list) doesn't seem to wait heavily on the page to my eyes. Klbrain (talk) 06:57, 3 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Clearly written and sufficiently referenced. Some of the points show over-citations, such as the end of the lede. This means that readers don't know which reference to turn to find the most substantive pieces of evidence to support the claim. There is also no lede, distinct from sections within the body of the article; the lede is a helpful summary or abstract of a more well-developed article.

Hi GobsPint. Thank you for your work on Howell-Jolly body-like inclusions. Another editor, Klbrain, has reviewed it as part of new pages patrol and left the following comment:

Concise but clear; using just enough sources! I'd considered whether a merge to a broader topic might be warranted, but as they're been described in several different cell types, keeping it separate seems reasonable. Perhaps a merge to Howell–Jolly body, as a separate section, for better context might be considered if the page proves difficult to develop further.

Hi GobsPint. Thank you for your work on Medical Device User Fee and Modernization Act. Another editor, Klbrain, has reviewed it as part of new pages patrol and left the following comment:

A concise page, supported by appropriate references, although some of them are from associated entities (the FDA). While some editors prefer prose, I think that the table in the history section is clear. While it may be obvious to US readers, including the legistature passing the bill would be helpful. The page also discusses two topics: the act and the programme. That's fine, but a clearer distinction between them might be helpful.

A tag has been placed on Category:Professional certification in quality management indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. If it remains empty for seven days or more, it may be deleted under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.

I have restored the article. The reason listed in your move "more sources needed" is not a valid WP:DRAFTREASON. I have added an additional source. If you believe the topic does not meet WP:N, please take it to AFD.GobsPint (talk) 18:41, 16 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
To be honest, "more sources needed" is one of the seven options listed in the tool used to draftify the article. If I intended to take it to AfD, I would have done so without hesitation. But it is not an AfD material. Draftifying serves as an alternative to deletion, providing an opportunity to incubate the article. Despite this, you moved the article to the mainspace with a significant portion lacking proper references. Our goal is to build a reliable encyclopedia, not to promote unsourced material that appears to be original research. Regards Hitro talk 23:03, 16 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the explanation. I created the article to correct a red link in another article I am writing. I moved in back to the mainspace as I'm not personally interested in expanding the topic, but as a sourced stub, perhaps others are. The topic is self-explanatory and would pass WP:N. The lack of sourcing may make {{Original research}} appropriate. Thanks.GobsPint (talk) 18:24, 17 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

Lamar University Literary Press moved to draftspace

edit

Thanks for your contributions to Lamar University Literary Press. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Significa liberdade (she/her) (talk) 14:45, 7 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Deletion discussion about Association of Genetic Technologists

edit

Hello GobsPint, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

While your contributions are appreciated, I wanted to let you know that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Association of Genetic Technologists, should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Association of Genetic Technologists.

Deletion discussions usually run for seven days and are not votes. Our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. The most common issue in these discussions is notability, but it's not the only aspect that may be discussed; read the nomination and any other comments carefully before you contribute to the discussion. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Conyo14}}. And don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

Proposed deletion of Hire-Train-Deploy

edit

The article Hire-Train-Deploy has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Might be WP:TOOSOON, there seems to be some mentions outside Craig as the coiner of the term and the companies self-promoting their services under this model, but there doesn't seem to be anything other than trivial mentions in RS. Might be enough for a WP:DICDEF but I don't think we have enough for an encyclopedia article.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Speedy deletion nomination of Category:Donald the Caveman

edit

A tag has been placed on Category:Donald the Caveman indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. If it remains empty for seven days or more, it may be deleted under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and removing the speedy deletion tag. plicit 14:54, 16 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

I have sent you a note about a page you started

Hi GobsPint. Thank you for your work on National Society for Histotechnology. Another editor, North8000, has reviewed it as part of new pages patrol and left the following comment:

IMO and edge case regarding wp:notability but I'm marking as reviewed. Need independent sources which discuss it. I added a couple possible refs but they are weak in this respect. Happy editing!

To reply, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|North8000}}. (Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.)
