User group for Military Historians
editGreetings,
"Military history" is one of the most important subjects when speak of sum of all human knowledge. To support contributors interested in the area over various language Wikipedias, we intend to form a user group. It also provides a platform to share the best practices between military historians, and various military related projects on Wikipedias. An initial discussion was has been done between the coordinators and members of WikiProject Military History on English Wikipedia. Now this discussion has been taken to Meta-Wiki. Contributors intrested in the area of military history are requested to share their feedback and give suggestions at Talk:Discussion to incubate a user group for Wikipedia Military Historians.

Request reason:
I looked down at the "Clearly not here to build the encyclopedia" page and didn't find myself ever doing any of those actions. I'm really sorry, and I really want to help. But I'm blocked, and really want to build one. I don't know how to phrase this without looking like a vandal (which I'm not, and I HATE vandals. When I get unblocked, I shall change my aims to fighting vandalism. Can I be a user like that, and have a second chance?)
Decline reason:
Procedural decline. New unblock request posted below. Vanjagenije (talk) 11:21, 15 February 2018 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
GermanGamer77 21:10, 14 February 2018 (UTC)
- What does "procedural decline" mean? I know I am not following Wikipedia:How to be unblocked but it was really an accident, and I just want to be unblocked. I am not going to guilt trip anybody, but I am getting desperate. :( GermanGamer77 19:56, 15 February 2018 (UTC)
- It means you had two unblock requests open at the same time, which shouldn't happen. He declined the earlier one, but left the latest one open for someone else to review. --SarekOfVulcan (talk) 20:00, 15 February 2018 (UTC) Another thing, kind administrator: I see the reason for your block, and would like to give an explanation: I was trying to add an image to the article, but failed. And I was then called to go do something else for the rest of the day, so I couldn't remove it, and then tomorrow this block showed up. In conclusion: the block is no longer necessary because I
understand what you have been blocked for, will not continue to cause damage or disruption, and will make useful contributions instead. GermanGamer77 20:05, 15 February 2018 (UTC)
OH GOD PLEASE HELP ME
editGermanGamer77 (block log • active blocks • global blocks • contribs • deleted contribs • filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log))
Request reason:
OH GOD HELP ME I WAS TOO LAZY TO REMOVE THAT THING I WAS TRYING TO ADD AN ADDITIONAL IMAGE BUT IT SCREWED UP AND NOW ALL MY EDITS ARE BEING REVERTED AAAAAHHHH PLEASE HELP PLEEEEASSEE
Decline reason:
I am declining your unblock request because it does not address the reason for your block, or because it is inadequate for other reasons. To be unblocked, you must convince the reviewing administrator(s) that
- the block is not necessary to prevent damage or disruption to Wikipedia, or
- the block is no longer necessary because you
- understand what you have been blocked for,
- will not continue to cause damage or disruption, and
- will make useful contributions instead.
Please read the guide to appealing blocks for more information. Huon (talk) 21:31, 13 February 2018 (UTC)

Why I should be unblocked
editGermanGamer77 (block log • active blocks • global blocks • contribs • deleted contribs • filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log))
Request reason:
This is the reason I got blocked: I was too lazy to remove the image, because I don't know how to add images correctly (once I get unblocked pls tell me how to put pictures on) and I ended up blocked. So, may I please have an unblock? I want to be productive. Oh, and I really want to add some new userboxes, but I'm blocked, as I said. I need the one that says "This user despises vandalism." Also, here: GermanGamer77 19:44, 14 February 2018 (UTC)
Decline reason:
No, you were blocked for trolling us on talk pages, which means you clearly aren't here. Reviewing all of your unblock requests and this one, it is clear you are still trolling us. I've revoked your talk page access. You can appeal through WP:UTRS if you want to, but if you do, please address the reasons for your block and what you will contribute to Wikipedia if you are unblocked. editI found your userbox request from over a month ago, rather by accident, and created one of them. You can find it here. FlyingShrimp (talk) 13:08, 4 March 2018 (UTC)
April 2018 Milhist Backlog Drive
editG'day all, please be advised that throughout April 2018 the Military history Wikiproject is running its annual backlog elimination drive. This will focus on several key areas:
- tagging and assessing articles that fall within the project's scope
- adding or improving listed resources on Milhist's task force pages
- updating the open tasks template on Milhist's task force pages
- creating articles that are listed as "requested" on the project's various lists of missing articles.
As with past Milhist drives, there are points awarded for working on articles in the targeted areas, with barnstars being awarded at the end for different levels of achievement.
The drive is open to all Wikipedians, not just members of the Military history project, although only work on articles that fall (broadly) within the scope of military history will be considered eligible. This year, the Military history project would like to extend a specific welcome to members of Wikipedia:WikiProject Women in Red, and we would like to encourage all participants to consider working on helping to improve our coverage of women in the military. This is not the sole focus of the edit-a-thon, though, and there are aspects that hopefully will appeal to pretty much everyone.
The drive starts at 00:01 UTC on 1 April and runs until 23:59 UTC on 30 April 2018. Those interested in participating can sign up here.

Changes in your adoption status
editHi there, I'm messaging you to let you know that I've removed Template:Adopt me from your user page because you have been inactive for at least 30 days. If you are active again, you are welcome to add the template to your userpage anytime. -- Gabrielchihonglee-Bot (talk) 09:42, 2 April 2018 (UTC)
Wikiproject Military history coordinator election nominations open
editNominations for the upcoming project coordinator election are now open. A team of up to ten coordinators will be elected for the next year. The project coordinators are the designated points of contact for issues concerning the project, and are responsible for maintaining our internal structure and processes. They do not, however, have any authority over article content or editor conduct, or any other special powers. More information on being a coordinator is available here. If you are interested in running, please sign up here by 23:59 UTC on 14 September! Voting doesn't commence until 15 September. If you have any questions, you can contact any member of the coord team. Cheers, MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:53, 1 September 2018 (UTC)
