Don't delete it

Don't delete my article on Sam Magri. If a player has played at any international level for a country then they are eligible to have an article made on them, according to an admin yesterday who almost "speedily deleted" this very article you almost have.

Speedy deletion declined: England national football team season 2011

Hello EchetusXe. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of England national football team season 2011, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Was only blank as result of vandalism - remember to check page history before tagging. Thank you. nancy 19:23, 7 February 2011 (UTC)

License of the Erikssonmap

Hi EchetusXe!

I saw your work of the Erikssonmap recently. http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/File:Erikssonmap.JPG The map is really good and you attributed the OpenStreetMap contributers correctly.

But because of the CC-BY-SA license, it's required to release any work based on the OSM data under the CC-BY-SA license. You published the map under "Public Domain".

I would like you to change the license to CC-BY-SA.

Thanks in advance!

I read that as 'paragraph' at first and was a bit stumped as to how to answer. Click Upload file here (also found under 'toolbox' on the left hand side of the screen). There you will be guided through the process. Assuming it is a photograph from your family album or whatever choose 'Upload your own work'. Hello. The newspaper piece just says wages, not high wages. Don't know what Mr O'Shea earns, but I'd guess the problem was more likely with what proportion of his wages Birmingham wanted Vale to pay this time round. Gerald Cork

Hello. User:Argyle 4 Life has pointed me in your direction as a Port Vale fan who might be able to help me out. I have a source which says that Gerald Cork (father of cricketer Dominic) played some professional matches for Port Vale, but I can't seem to find any further info online. Would it be possible if you could help shed some light on whether he did or not? Thanks. AssociateAffiliate (talk) 18:58, 10 June 2011 (UTC)

Sorry, but no player of that name ever played for Port Vale. Only an 'A. Cork' who was an amateur between 1910 and 1912. It is possible that Gerald played as a youth player, or possibly even signed a contract at some point, but he certainly never took to the field in a competitive game. Unless of course he changed his surname or something like that. My guess would be that the Dancing on Ice researchers just got it wrong.--EchetusXe 13:49, 11 June 2011 (UTC)

I see you have recently expanded the article, well anyway i've made a few tweeks and added some more info and have now listed it for good article nomination. Peter Swan

Hello, yes I'd say that the part about his time with us is succinct. What do you mean about stats? An exhaustive summary of his stats with us is here. The Herald did a piece about his book. I never saw him play because he left a few months before my first game, but I've heard many stories and consider it a very lucky escape. Shilts was a great player and we had one of our best ever attacking sides under his management in 1993–94, but he wasn't the sharpest knife in the drawer and bringing Swan in was testament to that. The part about him causing trouble when Warnock arrived leads me to believe that he was either very brave or very stupid, maybe a combination of the two because I severely doubt a kid would have stepped out of line once if their boss was Neil Warnock.

If you would like more sources then I'll see what I find when I have time, and I have plenty of books so I'll see if I can turn up anything in them. If you're looking to get the article to GA or FA in the future then a few things I noticed about the references: Multiple ones using the same source should be grouped together, single pages should only have one p. and some of them use Roman numerals. Argyle 4 Lifetalk 00:04, 3 September 2011 (UTC)

Nah, I meant a source to allow us to do a table like this. His book was interesting but I can't say I would have liked the guy if I was a teammate of his. He said that Shilton was a nice guy but not much of a conversationalist, he seemed never to get used to admirers coming up to shake his hand, and he seemed to be somewhat isolated as Plymouth manager.
What do you mean about grouping references together? As for the roman numerals they were in the introduction, following which the pages started at page 1. Cheers for the pp advice.--EchetusXe 13:10, 3 September 2011 (UTC)
I was going to say Soccerbase, but I forgot that player statistics on there only go back to 1996. His book doesn't have them? That's surprising to me. It could be done club-to-club, providing that others have the books for their club. I can reference his Argyle stats, BigDom for Burnley, you for Port Vale, KeithD for Hull City and, that's odd, I'm not aware of a Leeds United fan on here off the top of my head. WP:REFNAME does a better job at explaining how to use the same source for multiple references than me. A recent example would be Mervan Celik, which I expanded yesterday. Argyle 4 Lifetalk 07:17, 4 September 2011 (UTC)
You can't group them together and keep the individual page references. I took the reference style from Germany's former football coach (source). His book had no stats other than "then I met Jimmy Smith, who went on to play 535 professional games" and stuff like that. I found this source for Swan's Leeds stats, as fortunately he was born in Leeds so that site bothers to cover the details. I'll start an unfinished table on his article, and ask around the guys you mentioned for his stats. Cheers!--EchetusXe 10:09, 4 September 2011 (UTC)
I managed it here. That page about his Leeds statistics is a nice find. I see that we're playing next Saturday so please go easy on us! Argyle 4 Lifetalk 10:31, 4 September 2011 (UTC)
We cant' defend this season but we can score, and we couldn't score last season but we could defend. So score five goals and you might win! btw Swan isn't on that list.--EchetusXe 10:35, 4 September 2011 (UTC)
We've only scored three goals in six matches so I don't think you'll need to worry about us scoring five like we did in 2003. The list shows that you can group book sources together. Page one of his book is used in three separate references when it should only be one. Argyle 4 Lifetalk 11:07, 4 September 2011 (UTC)
Ah I gotcha. Thanks!--EchetusXe 11:13, 4 September 2011 (UTC)

Redirects

Hello. You may not know that there's no need to make changes like [[Tranmere Rovers]] → [[Tranmere Rovers F.C.|Tranmere Rovers]]. In fact, WP:NOTBROKEN advises against it. Another thing is, you may want to find an alternative source for the Barnet row in Ryan Burge's career stats table. Soccerbase has a phantom appearance against your lot in 2009. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 17:20, 4 September 2011 (UTC)

Oh dear, another Soccerbase booboo.--EchetusXe 17:56, 4 September 2011 (UTC)
