Your recent edit to Super Bowl VII

edit

You might want to cite your source for your recent addition to the Super Bowl VII article. The popular view is that the NFL blacked out each and every game locally. So if the blackout was lifted during that day as an experiement, you should provide proof that it was the case. Please see our guidelines on how to cite sources on how to do so. Thanks. Please use edit summaries

edit

When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field, especially for big edits or when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. K-25 (Kansas highway)

edit

A tag has been placed on K-25 (Kansas highway), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the page and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. 172.151.149.240 05:44, 29 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Your recent edits to the Bear Bryant article.

edit

Do you have sources for the Mitchell and Wallace info? Also, your change stating that Bryant spent the night at DCH and then suffered his heart attack the next day contradicts the sources used in the article which states that he visited the hospital on the 25th for a check-up, left, and then returned the next day before suffering the heart attack. If this is wrong, please find a source which says otherwise and possibly submit it in a discussion. Thanks! -- LS Shoals (talk) 11:18, 11 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Your comments on Atta article

edit

Hi! I saw your comments on Talk:Mohamed Atta, and thought I'd give you a little friendly feedback. Per the WP:CIVIL policy, comments on Wikipedia are generally supposed to be at a high level of civility. As such, it's is generally considered inappropriate to swear excessively. It's also considered inappropriate to write in all caps, as this is usually the internet equivalent of shouting. As such, I believe it would be beneficial if you edited your own comments to make them more calm and civil. Regarding your actual concern, while it is certainly true that the actions of Atta and others are condemned by the vast majority of people, and that that most people (myself included) find their acts despicable, that does not mean that we should not have encyclopedia articles on them. By definition, encyclopedias collect information on all notable people, good or evil. For example, would it make any sense to have an encyclopedia without Josef Stalin or Adolph Hitler, people usually considered far worse than Atta? The fact is that Atta's horrid actions had a tremendous impact on the world; as such, it is our responsibility to make that information available. This does not mean that the encyclopedia condones Atta's actions in any way, merely that he is notable enough to deserve an entry here. Qwyrxian (talk) 23:48, 28 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Please comment on the contributions and not the contributors. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. You are welcome to rephrase your comment as a civil criticism of the article. Thank you. Jojhutton (talk) 03:11, 6 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

I just reverted similar material on Jay Dardenne and Dave Treen. You simply cannot add information about living people without providing good, strong sources. This is especially true in the case of the info you added to Dardenne, which asserted legal convictions against another person. WP:BLP says this must be sourced--it's not like other info, where you can add it to an article and have someone tag it for future addition of a citation. Also, make sure your additions are neutral; words like "unabashed" do not meet WP:NPOV. Qwyrxian (talk) 03:20, 15 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Mid-Continent League

edit

The article Mid-Continent League has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Article doesn't provide references and is not a notable league at this time.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Year articles

edit

There is consensus that anniversaries should not be in year articles, unless there are notable plans for a notable commemoration. There is consensus that scheduled country-wide elections should not be listed unless something different happens, and that inaugurations should not be listed unless something unusual happens. (Some of these consensuses are now disputed.) I didn't intend to revert your Superbowl edits, but I can't say the ones I restored are good. — Arthur Rubin (talk) 01:27, 10 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Russell, Kansas, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Roger Marshall (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 1 month for persistently adding unsourced or poorly sourced content. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Eagles 24/7 (C) 18:31, 21 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
I count at least 23 warnings on this talk page to provide reliable sources for content you add to articles, and going through your last 50-100 edits it appears you are wholly disinterested in adding sources to back up any of your article additions. Wikipedia has a strict no original research policy that you've repeatedly and consistently ignored, and to be unblocked you will need to prove you are willing to adhere to the standards expected here.
