Hi, I just wanted to ask what could be done with my RfA-- the time has passed, apparently, and nothing's happened. Tadakuni (talk) 23:04, 26 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

People ganging up to disrupt an article

Hi,

I found you at Wikipedia:Editor assistance. If you can spare a few minutes of your time helping out at Indo-Aryan loanwords in Tamil, I would be thankful.

I am developing an article on words borrowed by Tamil from Indo-Aryan languages. I am citing a standard authoritative lexicon from which I find the words that are borrowed before including them at Indo-Aryan loanwords in Tamil. There are a few people who seem to be intent in damaging the article by adding "cite" tags, "disputed" and "dubious" tags for the article and threatening to delete it within 24 hours.

Could you please help?

Thanks. Kris (talk) 19:13, 27 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Super Mario All-stars box.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Super Mario All-stars box.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:05, 28 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Move requests

Could you move "Mario & Luigi 3" and "Donkey Kong Junior (video game)" to "Mario & Luigi RPG 3" and "Donkey Kong Junior"? - A Link to the Past (talk) 06:11, 7 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi,

I placed an abreviation for VMA (Venue Management Association) see: www.vma.org.au a non profit association that represents managers of public assembly facilities. IT IS NOT A PUBLIC OR FOR PROFIT COMPANY. Membership is restricted to those who fit the industry requirements.

I had placed as an AID to explain the abbreviation, the brief para below on the HISTORY of the VMA.

Since then, it has been REMOVED and disputed by several Wiki Editors based on the fact it appears on a web site. That's correct...I WROTE IT!!

All I want to do, is support the abbreviation and explain on Wiki what VMA is? Is that BAD in the eyes of a public enccyclopedia?

I notice that my abbreviation ahs now also been REMOVED?

How come the Virgin Mobile Australia (VMA) COMPANY is allowed to say who they are, but not the Venue Management Association (VMA)

LISTING THAT APPEARS ACCEPTABLE? Virgin Mobile Australia (VMA) is a telecommunications company based in Sydney, Australia. They sell through over 3500 retail outlets, including flagship stores in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, as well as via telesales and web-based stores.

VMA offers pre-paid, monthly and CAP plans for mobile phones. It also has two wireless broadband products: Broadband At Home and Mobile Broadband.

Merge "Art Style"'s history with "Bit Generation"

I'd like your input

I'm sorry to have to bring this up, as you clearly dislike people doing so, but you're the only other consistent editor at Wikipedia:Changing username‎. I recently requested a name change and was denied by User:Dweller, who has claimed that doing so was a waste of system resources. I've asked for a clear explanation as to why this is, as others requesting changes since have been renamed with the exact same reasoning as my own, but he/she appears to be ignoring me. There are no conflicts and the name is not crass in any way or promotional in nature. Is there somebody I could speak to or somewhere else I could go to discuss this? I've been an editor here for 2 and a half years, and I'd like to think that I've contributed enough to be considered slightly more than a waste of Wikipedia's system resources. Gamer Junkie T / C 08:01, 20 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Please ignore my request. It appears that I have jumped to the wrong conclusion. I have been in contact with Dweller and the situation has been resolved. The Cake is a Lie T / C 10:59, 20 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

A major problem with the bias content on this site

Hello

Just yesterday and today I am having issues when trying to place a different point of view on wiki

Today it was TreasuryTag who keeps removing my edits.

He claims to be a Rabbi, calls me a rambler and a radical in his edits.

The underlying source is that your site caters to the majority.

I, and my opinion, is a minority and therefore, based on edit deletes, they will never appear on your site.

Example: I believe that there is a difference between the words written by Moses and being the sefer torah than what wiki calls the Hebrew bible

The site is dominated by the opinions of Rabbinical Judaism

I am a Jew and don't follow the laws of Rabbinical Judaism

To me the 5 books of Moses is the only Jewish bible and don’t include anything else.

Yet this is a problem to this site.

Can you suggest how a minority opinion can be on your site?

Just so you know: The opinion on your site is that of the Pharisee and not of the Sadducee. Apparently, they are still at war.

Youknowbest (talk) 20:12, 21 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

I didn't claim to be a Rabbi, by the way. ╟─Treasury§Tagcontribs─╢ 20:13, 21 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

"I am actually a teacher of Jewish Studies":

"I am actually a teacher of Jewish Studies" is defined as a RABBI on your website

TreasuryTag contributions to your website:

Hiya, welcome to Wikipedia! I removed your quotes because they were in a format not consistent with our Manual of Style (all-caps is no good), they had no reference and your talkpage shows some record of unreliability in terms of Jewish worship. I am actually a teacher of Jewish Studies and your errors above (machzor/siddur etc.) don't inspire confidence! It was these three factors that led me to delete, but, however - please keep trying! ╟─Treasury§Tag►contribs─╢ 19:32, 21 October 2008 (UTC)

I'm sorry, I really can't face trying to make head or tail of the message you left me. However, from the look of it, you should perhaps re-read the following Wikipedia policies: WP:CITE, WP:SIG, WP:POINT. The first in particular! Thanks. ╟─Treasury§Tag►contribs─╢ 19:43, 21 October 2008 (UTC)

Please do not engage with me again, I have no interest in your arguments with Wikipedia. However, you posted on another user's talkpage that I "claim to be a Rabbi" - I don't. I didn't. I never did. So don't lie. ╟─Treasury§Tag►contribs─╢ 20:14, 21 October 2008 (UTC)

I am paid by my synagogue to teach Hebrew and Religious Knowledge to a class of 11-13 year-olds. This does not make me a rabbi, as you no doubt understand. I'm not actually sure why YouK came running to you with his/her problems, but I hope you appreciate that I've been hassled by them a fair bit this evening! ╟─Treasury§Tagcontribs─╢ 20:40, 21 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

_________________________________________ But that isn't what you said TreasuryTag, was it?

So instead of nitpicking people to death, why don't you try to contribute and help by showing people all sides to an argument. In your studies of the religion you should have learnt that Jews killed Jews. They were the pharisee and the sadducee.

Call me a sadducee if you like. Because of the bias that exists on wiki quotes like: 'THE TEMPLE WAS DESTROYED.

What it should state is: All the priests levites were murdered by the pharisee to dominate Jewish law and politics.

Tell me if you see that anywhere on wiki? And why don't you quote the talmud directly? Embarrassed maybe?

Wars have been waged over this, but I would think you could have learnt by now that we can all have our opinions. Youknowbest (talk) 20:58, 21 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Assistance

Hi Andrevan. I was wondering if you could take a look at the Project Management Institute entry. THere are warnings on there, but no discussion about those warning were left. I have tried to fix the sourcing and solve that dispute, but am looking for a judegement call by someone on whether or not that has been fixed.

Wikipedia:Valued pictures

I was wondering if it would be possible for you to place a notice announcing the launch of the new valued images project here on Wikipedia? Could yu make a message that would appear at the top of users' watchlists, much like the announcement for the December 2008 Arbitration Committee elections or the requests for comment? It would be greatly beeficial for the project. Thanks in advance, Elucidate (light up) 12:35, 8 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
