Bargerson
See my note on Rouoetyjsjabdb 's sock puppet investigation regarding User:Bargerson. He basically admitted that JohnnyJorringer and Cowbert (neither of whom are blocked) were his socks, in addition to cowback23451 and larfers. And since there is reason to believe that Larfersandcowback is the same person as larfers and cowback (as well as Rouoetyjsjabdb per the original edits to Moses the Coach ), I think that represents evidence to continue. Most of the others listed were Cowback's suspected socks from a previous investigation, most of which are already blocked. Smartyllama (talk) 18:25, 1 July 2012 (UTC)
- Replied there. -- DQ (ʞlɐʇ) 19:11, 1 July 2012 (UTC)
- Cool. Did you see this edit (actually two edits back-to-back)? He seemingly admitted some of his socks, including cowback and larfers as well as two that aren't blocked. This would probably include Cowbackandlarfers (the account by that name) as well, since cowback and larfers are too random names for cowback23451, larfers, and cowbackandlarfers to be separate people. There is also a user called cowback, but since he hasn't edited since 2006 it doesn't seem worthwhile to check him out. Smartyllama (talk) 20:41, 1 July 2012 (UTC)
Poop patrol
Hi DQ, did you manage to recover the code to the poop patrol run? ϢereSpielChequers 11:09, 2 July 2012 (UTC)
- The code doesn't need to be recovered necessarily, but I still don't have my login. I've been pushing my internal buttons to try and get something done, but TS admins are not doing anything fast. I'll push my buttons again today. Just so you know, your not the only one waiting, so I am pushing hard. IP user requesting unblock
Hello DQ. Please see User talk:62.212.85.107. He is blocked since he is using part of a LeaseWeb range that you blocked in April. See his request for why he thinks he should be able to edit. Thanks, EdJohnston (talk) 18:13, 2 July 2012 (UTC)
- Looking back at my logs, I blocked this range for socking on a webhost. I doubt these two cases are related, but it does not yet match the criteria for an IPBE until we verify that he can not edit from another location, and a checkuser is run. If we do give him IPBE, he's going to need an account. I'll change the block to the new {{webhostblock}} template. -- DQ (ʞlɐʇ) 19:19, 2 July 2012 (UTC)

Your edit
An accusation was made against me which I just saw. I defended my self against it, and you undid my edit [1]. Please revert your edits. This is the proper thing to do in order to bring credibility and respectability to Wikipedia. What you have just done sents the wrong signal, and I hope you will reconsider and undo your edit.Tamsier (talk) 04:01, 4 July 2012 (UTC)
- Hello Tamsier, you were reverted because you attempted to post to an archived discussion which isn't allowed. The whole matter is a year old and not a current discussion. Hopefully this helps,
— Berean Hunter (talk) 04:26, 4 July 2012 (UTC)- Very well. My contributions to Wiki is my vindicator. Those who wish to dirty my name do not even deserve my time or energy. Bad karma comes to the wretched. Tamsier (talk) 05:40, 4 July 2012 (UTC)
- I honestly find it hard to believe that you haven't known of this until now, since it was established in your block log, and on this revision of you userpage. Anyway, archives are not able to be edited because the blocking administrator makes a decision based on the evidence present. If you need to add new evidence to the investigation, you need to contact the blocking admin. The fact that you think you are innocent, then why were two other accounts from the same IP address editing from the same computer as you, editing Wikipedia? I'm willing to take whatever story you have into account per normal procedures, but this doesn't guarantee anything. -- DQ (ʞlɐʇ) 13:20, 4 July 2012 (UTC)
Amir.Hossein.7055-related socks
Thank you for blocking all these disruptive socks. But could you also please speedy-delete the dozen or so pages he has created with his various socks per Wikipedia:Banning_policy#Enforcement_by_reverting? That's the only way to discourage further sock-puppetry by this user, and send him a message that he is not welcome in Wikipedia. I'm already reverting his edits per that policy, but someone with admin rights, should just speedy delete the pages he has created with these socks, to make him understand that his socking is a futile exercise and a waste of time on his part, so that he would stop making more socks. Question about rangeblocking
Hello, DeltaQuad. I want to know if it's reasonable to request a rangeblock in a sockpuppet case such as RJR3333's. Judging by how the case closed, it doesn't seem that it is. Not to mention, suckpuppet cases that have extensive archives and therefore indicate that rangeblocking was not used or was only sparingly used. It seems like such a big waste of time to even report such users, unless causing disruption that needs to be stopped, considering that they just keep coming back again and again. Flyer22 (talk) 00:25, 20 July 2012 (UTC)
- Some blocks were recently modified and should slow down this user, if not stop him or her. Please do let me know if they come back, and we'll see if we can make more effective blocks to stop him. -- DQ (ʞlɐʇ) 03:04, 20 July 2012 (UTC)
- Thank you, DeltaQuad. Flyer22 (talk) 03:59, 20 July 2012 (UTC)
Something strange
An IP has reverted me on Soviet war in Afghanistan[2], being the nosy bugger that I am and my inability to resist following links I took a peek to see were this chap was editing from. According to this[3] the IP is running from Pakistan Telecommuication company limited, which is strange that the name is spelled incorrectly. The other bit of weirdness is the hostname is the IP, not the usual stuff which is what I would expect to see. Can you check to see if this is a proxy please. Darkness Shines (talk) 17:06, 20 July 2012 (UTC)
- I just recalled an IP on this range which had been blocked for harassing me a while ago[4] it is probably the same sock or meatpuppet as that one. I believe this IP is Highstakes00 Darkness Shines (talk) 19:02, 20 July 2012 (UTC)
- No proxy related stuff I can find. And Hostname = IP, not really an indicator of good or bad. -- DQ (ʞlɐʇ) 03:47, 21 July 2012 (UTC)
- OK thank you, I am sure it is H though, I shall wait to see if he continues before filing an SPI Darkness Shines (talk) 08:07, 21 July 2012 (UTC)

Major Vandalism?
Hello, Delta.....long time no talk. I was adding a category to a photo of mine today, and I ran across something really strange. In the Summary, below the Categories, there was a stupid note. It was just gibberish so I deleted it. Then I got curious and clicked on the IP address of the user that left it. There ARE hundreds of photo files there that look like contribution edits on his user page.; however, I opened a few of them and they are SEX RANTS, or Gibberish. I think this sicko needs to be banned quickly. It looks like he is setting up for a major Bombing here. The User page is: http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/81.106.164.18 An example of his handy work can be seen on this edit that he undid a few days later; but it shows the mind-set of the poor guy: http://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=File:Hong_Kong_School_Private_Light_Bus.JPG&action=history The guy goes into multilple photos in commons every day and leaves little notes. Maybe he's lonely, but he's got to be lonely somewhere else. I can't believe he's been getting away with it for so long. You won't believe it either when you see all the edits on his user page; and everyone is a note in a photo file. The world is a sick place...but it's the only world we have. If I'm reporting Commons Vandalism in the wrong place.....just point me in the right direction. Take Care..... and thanks in advance for looking into this. Pocketthis (talk) 18:57, 22 July 2012 (UTC)
- I talked to two commons admins about this, and I agree with them this is not a big deal, but if you have any questions Logan at Commons (who is an admin there) and can explain implications with local policy. The Commons Vandalism page should also help you in getting requests fulfilled in the future. -- DQ (ʞlɐʇ) 03:30, 23 July 2012 (UTC)
Request for checkuser help
Hello, DeltaQuad. I wonder if you would be willing to look at Wikipedia:WikiProject on open proxies/Requests#187.122.136.167. A user has asked for a proxy block to be lifted, and it looks as though it isn't an open proxy. As far as I can see, the block can be just lifted, but an admin who did a proxy check suggests a checkuser before unblocking. Perhaps you can deal with it? JamesBWatson (talk) 20:22, 22 July 2012 (UTC)
- That's been satisfactorily dealt with now. JamesBWatson (talk) 11:22, 23 July 2012 (UTC)
- Sorry I didn't get to this yesterday. I was also sorta confused by the request and how a CU would help, and I saw that it was already unblocked. Need anything else, do let me know. -- DQ (ʞlɐʇ) 16:22, 23 July 2012 (UTC)

Range block
Hi. User:NTox asked me to give you some information about a range block related to an account creation request. The relevant AIV report, just before the bot removed the entry after I blocked the range, is here. The block should be long expired by now; is it still causing a problem? ~Amatulić (talk) 14:53, 25 July 2012 (UTC)
- It's not being a problem, it's just the CU results were too heavy on CU to spit it out properly, so without knowing more details on which IPs, I couldn't continue. All is good now and looks like Elockid has handled. -- DQ (ʞlɐʇ) 01:14, 26 July 2012 (UTC)

ScottyBerg/Mantanmoreland sockpuppet evidence....
I left a sample log evidence in the Matanmoreland/ScottyBerg sockpuppet investigation page. It shows chunks of ScottyBerg/Mantanmoreland and 96.242.217.91's edits clustered together, which happens throuhout the "Chinatown, Manhattan" log. Just do a ctrl-f to highlight all occurrences of "ScottyBerg on your browser and go back 2 or 3 pages and you'll easily catch them right away. The connections betw. all the various IPs and ScottyBerg/Mantanmoreland in the given evidence are obviously clear. All IPS also originate from the within the same, small, 5 x 5 mile area in Bergen County, NJ. If you have time, you can also look through at least a couple of the other things pointed out in the evidence to verify for yourself, as it won't take up too much of your time. I've also given their location so it'll be easy to look up, backlog or no backlog. This individual is one of the worst cases of sockpuppets ever on WP, employing numerous ids and IP resources at his disposal. Investigations in the past have been successful with only a few lines of evidence. I've included a treasure trove of it, as well as connecting the dots for you. It all depends on how you use it.
THERE IS ENOUGH here to establish that it is in fact Mantandmore/ScottyBerg. The question now, is whether or not you'll appropriately block these IPs, or let him get away. Please keep in mind that this individual is so relentless in his efforts to edit on WP. You guys found this out the hard way in 2 previous investigations that resulted in blocks. You need to make a decisions here, and regardless of what you do it will only serve to contain and NOT stop him enirely. He'll be back wih a new IP in a couple of weeks or so, and you can take this all the way to the bank. If I am mistaken(which I doubt), the least he could do is appeal and explain why there are too many coincidences. The likely scenario is that he won't bother, as he knows it'll be a waste of his time. He'll probably throw in a word or two accusing me of all sorts of things, leave, and come back with another IP/account, and that'll be the end of that until the next investigation. MBaxter1 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 20:41, 25 July 2012 (UTC)
- I haven't declined to act on your case, in fact I haven't had the chance to read through it fully, but the lack of blue and/or red links to the article's history, or even to the articles, that is what I was looking for, nothing more. But with the evidence log, i'll see what I can do tomorrow as i'm just about nuked tonight. My apologies if I came off as you not having a strong case, and sorry for the delay. -- DQ (ʞlɐʇ) 03:42, 27 July 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks. There's so much backlog to look through, and I'm just speaking for myself. In the meantime, I'll see if I can find more stuff by the weekend. If you do a lookup into the origins of these IPs, I think it should be enough. The area in question where the edits are coming from is roughly 5X5 miles w/ a population of 50,000(est.) The rate of edits from this area is VASTLY & GROSSLY represented in comparison to, let's say, a big city like New York or Boston. One would expect a lot of activity coming from those places for articles like "Chinatown, Manhattan", but that's not the case here. This is definitely grounds for suspicion which shouldn't be overlooked. Remember, this user has already been blocked twice for sockpuppeting after 2 previous investigations. An investigation of another blocked user(Thmc1) involving one of the IPS in this ongoing investigation was unsucessful, due to a lack of evidence. The evidence I've found suggest that they're both the same. I've also noticed on the log of this user that his edits have been less frequent since the investigation began, with gaps of days inbetw. edits. I think he's aware and is attempting to keep a lower profile. This individual is one of the worst known sockpuppeters in WPs history, and you know full well that he isn't going to disappear completely. This is just a temporary action until the next investigation. I guess that's how the ball rolls on WP. MBaxter1 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 20:59, 27 July 2012 (UTC)
