Stats ..
editHeh, you seem to be interested in this .. You know that I am running 4 linkwatchers, who watch in total 734 wikis for added links , email addresses and attempt to catch telephone numbers (resp. below, en.wikipedia; all non-wikipedia-wikis (wiktionary, wikibooks, wikinews, wikiquote etc.); about ten big wikis without en.wikipedia, and 'the rest of the wikipedias'). The catch on telephone numbers quite imperfect, and it does not happen a lot anyway, needs to be acted on from IRC, can't 'publish' that data). This is not going to be readable, but here they are:

They are all awake for about a day after a restart (and a db-crash :-( ), having watched in total 228301 + 44236 + 132485 + 195445 edits (153 + 29 + 89 + 131 per minute), in the watched spaces ('content spaces': main, template, user and category) those are 180467 + 37678 + 113966 + 163495 (121 + 25 + 76 + 109 per minute), roughly 82% of the total of edits is in these 4 namespaces. Links: 28868 total (0.12 per edit; 1.19 per EL add edit; 19 PM) - 797 total (0.01 per edit; 0.99 per EL add edit; 0 PM) - 8367 (0.06 per edit; 0.8 per EL add edit; 5 PM) - 12531 total (0.06 per edit; 0.84 per EL add edit; 8 PM), that is 19 + 0 + 3 + 5 = 32 added external links per minute. And indeed, that is certainly not all to the best of sources. In fact, about 25% of the edits on en is by whitelisted editors, 27% by IPs (there are hardly any IPs whitelisted for obvious reasons), only 17% of the links are whitelisted, almost 5% is on XLinkBot's revertlist .. (0.5% is telephone numbers and email addresses..). The other wikis have less whitelisted users, as I have not imported e.g. their admin lists. Scary eh? --Dirk Beetstra T C 16:36, 16 February 2009 (UTC)
Thanks
editThank you for your help and sleuthing here. I've modified the custom block template I use to drop the "temp user" tag; I was not even aware it was still in there. :) Kuru talk 00:59, 17 February 2009 (UTC)
- I'm happy to help. Also:
- I found some related domains which should also be blacklisted; I've listed them at User talk:Careerday1.
- I answered your question about redirects. (Yes, they get blacklisted at meta).
- I'm happy to help. Also:
- I was starting to look at this stuff and then discovered you'd already been working on it. Great job tracking this stuff down. --A. B. (talk • contribs) 01:02, 17 February 2009 (UTC)
Help with spam link
editHello A.B. I noticed you warned User:41.196.249.18 about adding a spam link. The link has turned up on the Academy Awards page ([1]) and on the WP:DYK archives ([2]). Spam Blacklisting isn't my area of expertise, so I was hoping you could take appropriate action required to stop this page getting linked. • \ / (⁂) 07:52, 18 February 2009 (UTC)
- I'm sorry to be slow in responding -- I've been away. I'll look into this in a few hours. --A. B. (talk • contribs) 05:09, 23 February 2009 (UTC)
- Now blacklisted. --A. B. (talk • contribs) 20:28, 23 February 2009 (UTC)
