Scottish Society of the History of Medicine
edit- ...
that surgeon Douglas Guthrie, founder of the Scottish Society of the History of Medicine had one career as a surgeon and a second as a historian? Source: "The Society was founded by Dr Douglas Guthrie, an Edinburgh ENT surgeon who became a medical historian.[[1]]
- Alt1 ...that among the first papers heard at the Scottish Society of the History of Medicine was one on quarantine from plague and another on the periodic devastation of Scotland by famines and epidemics? Philafrenzy (talk) 14:09, 12 March 2018 (UTC)

- fixed hook and reviewing Whispyhistory (talk) 21:05, 11 March 2018 (UTC)
- Comment: Thanks @Whispyhistory and thanks @Philafrenzy Have expanded intro as suggested and reduced subheadings. References now edited. Is further editing of references needed? Papamac (talk) 15:19, 12 March 2018 (UTC)
- Ref 1 missing full publications details. Ref 2 page numbers missing. Ref 6 missing date retrieved or accessed. Ref 11 has ambiguous date. Ref 14 has wrong and missing details. See what is in the window, not what is auto reported by Google. Philafrenzy (talk) 17:23, 12 March 2018 (UTC) Thanks. ref 1 online only. Refs 2 and 6 fixed. Not sure what required refs 11 and 14.Papamac (talk) 22:03, 12 March 2018 (UTC)
- 1 was published in an academic journal as well as online so needs those details. You also need to tag it (subscription required)
- 14 is missing joint author, title does not match, publisher is not the one you say, give year only for a book. Philafrenzy (talk) 22:41, 12 March 2018 (UTC)
- Hi @Iainmacintyre:. Ping me once references and a couple of citations are sorted. Whispyhistory (talk) 17:26, 13 March 2018 (UTC)

Overall: Isssues with references appear resolved. Straightforward article. Enjoyed reading it. Alt1 better. Striking hook that covers Guthrie rather than SSHM Whispyhistory (talk) 06:49, 14 March 2018 (UTC)
- The title of the Hull book was still wrong and the spelling of one of the author's names incorrect. I have fixed both. (more attention to detail on this sort of thing please) Philafrenzy (talk) 08:52, 14 March 2018 (UTC)
