@Maile66: Made additions and change the hook. KAVEBEAR (talk) 01:23, 15 April 2020 (UTC)
- Suggest you link aliʻi rather than putting the word chiefs in parenthesis. — Maile (talk) 01:30, 15 April 2020 (UTC)

- Every paragraph is sourced
- Hook
- Hook is interesting and has 150 characters
- I'm having trouble finding which source is for the hook. I see where it's stated in the article, but there is no citation after that sentence. DYK reviewing guide says the hook fact in the article must be immediately followed by an inline citation. The sourcing is mostly that which I cannot access, but I can AGF on that. So would you please add a citation immediately following the sentence?

- I added the inline citation. The source for the hook can be found in this clipping: https://www.newspapers.com/clip/38294537/capt-n-tripp-gifts-kalakaua-with-a/ and whaling from this https://www.nytimes.com/1986/11/23/travel/palace-of-the-last-hawaiian-king.html ("...stands a seven-foot narwhal tusk, the gift of a whaling captain...")
