George H. Barbour
edit- ... that after the base of the dome of the New Jersey State House was painted in a shade of blue, George H. Barbour introduced legislation that would require the dome to be restored in its traditional gold with an off-white base? Source: "Jersey Notes: State House Doe Is Gold Again After a Dispute" - "Assemblyman Charles B. Yates, a Burlington County Democrat, described the blue paint as 'hideous.' Others said the color combination was all right for football uniforms or for racing silks but that it was undignified and lacking in historical perspective for a State House dome. So Mr. Yates and Assemblyman George H. Barbour, another Burlington Democrat, introduced a bill that would force the state to restore the dome to its original gold with a conservative, off‐white‐colored base."
