Fort Dobbs (North Carolina)
edit- ... that the colonial governor of North Carolina built Fort Dobbs to protect settlers from frequent attacks and harassment by Cherokee and Catawba raiding parties?
- Comment: ALT1: ... that part of the reason Arthur Dobbs, colonial governor of North Carolina, ordered the construction of Fort Dobbs in 1755 was to protect 200,000 acres of land he owned?

- Believe it fits perfectly. I like the ALT1 hook better. It is well-referenced, long enough, interesting and has no copyvio or other similar problems that I can see. Hook length is fine. -- JoannaSerah (talk) 18:53, 9 December 2012 (UTC)
