I don't know who wrote this shit, but Umi is not a schoolgirl and she's not wearing a school uniform. I mean Jesus Christ, just look at her picture. What school requires their students to wear tight black jerseys and denim jackets/skirts?

Merge

I was bold and merged Umihara Kawase Syun into this page. I think it's pretty obvious why, but anyone who disagrees is free to discuss it. Cutscenes

Copyright status of game play videos

Some people believe it does, though I'm not about to spend any time argueing that. But the person who removed it goes to extremes to remove every theoretically potentially violating link, to the point that he removes links to completely home made vids on user pages, etc. It's better better to leave a note on his talk page, but eh... ♫ Melodia Chaconne ♫ (talk) 00:19, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

There's considerable precedent for the legality of game play videos in the number of such videos available in the form of speed runs, game reviews, walkthroughs, etc. that are widely published - some of which are even linked to above (in the article). If anyone contests this, I'd only ask that they can provide evidence that this wide spread and very public practice is actually illegal before they remove material from the article on such grounds. Name order

Until today, the article referred to the game series as "Umihara Kawase" but the eponymous protagonist as "Kawase Umihara" with no explanation. I get it--the name was being presented in Western name order--but with no explanation, it's rather confusing. Additionally, the manual of style does NOT mandate all Japanese names be written in Western name order (even though that's fairly conventional--even Japanese people do it when they are writing their names in Roman letters) but rather, "the spelling and name order used (for the title, and within the article body) should be that most commonly used in reliable, third-party English-language sources." Writing this characters name is Western order is virtually unheard of, so I have gone through and standardized it to "Umihara Kawase" for both. --RubilacEx (talk) 21:10, 13 July 2022 (UTC)

In light of the potential for confusion, I've added a Family name hatnote template to the top of the article. I am not sure if this usage is correct, though, as it seems to be intended for biography pages rather than articles on video game franchises.
