Servants and Slaves: Missing Articles - Clarification.

edit

While the Founding Fathers did object to slavery as immoral. They used what was available (pragmatic). They did not have the benefits of modern life. They used slaves as servants.

Slavery in the South turned brutal, due to the environment. It's closer to the equator and hotter in the summers. Work would become extremely difficult. Even before slavery was outlawed, it was just a series of crimes: assault, torture, extortion (work or be assaulted), imprisonment (held against ones will) and other related crimes, rape and homicides.

This would lead to the Civil War in the 1800s. 73.169.181.43 (talk) 08:29, 28 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
