Talk:Succession to the former French throne (Bonapartist)

Merger proposal

edit

It is customary to actually have a line of succession listed that the page called "Line of succession to...". Given that "Bonpartist" is preferred over "Napoleonic", the line of succession should be here. Also, the princes of Canino and Musignano have never been dynasts, as the article on them admits, and therefore they should not be listed as a line of succession but rather as supported by a minority. Napoleon VIII

edit

How is Jean-Christophe Napoleon VIII under the "Dynastic Dispute" section? If there is a dynastic dispute then that means that both he and his father are arguably Napoleon VII? If his father Charles was truly skipped then Jean-Christophe would be Napoleon VII, and if Charles is the true heir then he is Napoleon VII and Jean-Christophe will presumably become Napoleon VIII, but he is not the VIII until his father dies or renounces his position.
