Which ships survive

edit

The list of 32 in article is has differences vs. list of 35 in Chesapeake Bay Skipjack Fleet MPS. What list should be used? doncram (talk) 04:50, 12 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

I'm not sure. The National Register list dates from 1984, which is quite a while ago. It's possible that the three missing boats were decommissioned in the meantime. I suspect there's a way to check with the state fisheries people to confirm this. Mangoe (talk) 05:16, 12 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Typical dimensions

edit

Would anyone be able to document typical dimensions of these craft, beyond the "40-50 feet" in length estimate? Beam, sailplan, draft, displacement, ...

They vary by a factor of two or more in displacement, very beamy, very shallow, with stumpy strongly raked masts. You might want to look at the Historic American Engineering Record documentation for Kathryn [1], with detailed measurements and drawings, or at the National Register nominations for Rebecca T. Ruark [2] and others, or the Chesapeake Bay skipjack fleet MPS [3]. Acroterion (talk) 20:47, 19 August 2014 (UTC)Reply
