How about a definition for a DNS SOA (Start of Authority) record? To start with:
- "Simple DNS Plus explains SOA-Records (Start of authority)":http://www.jhsoft.com/help/rec_SOA.htm
- "SOA records are defined in RFC 1035, Domain Names - Implementation and Specification":http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc1035.txt
I agree with the above; sadly, I don't have the knowledge to write such an article. What I'm not so clear about, however is why "also: Service-orientierte Architektur" appears on the page? Isn't this just a translation which should be in the page itself?

Okay, I'm 99% sure this shouldn't be on that page, so I'm about to remove it. I've placed a note on the author's page explaining my concerns, so if he supplies an explanation, I'll undo this change. I'll delete these talk entries too in about two weeks.
Service-Oriented Architecture
editService-Oriented Architecture's tagline (expresses a perspective of software architecture that defines the use of services to support the requirements of software users.) sounds far too advertising-y to me, does anyone have a clearer wording? --FauxFaux 20:44, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
Standard Operator Answer?
editHow about SOA#1? It's related to BOFH if I remember correctly. Kosma 193.59.72.35 22:02, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

clean up
editTo clarify, this is a disambiguation page and not a list of abbreviations/acronyms/initialisms, and should be kept clear and concise to aid in navigation. Entries should be target articles which include the acronym or abbreviation, which should be verifiable/notable. Here is a summary of the changes I made and my reasoning under WP:DABABBREV, MOS:DABABRV, etc.
- Sarbanes–Oxley Act - removed - according to its article it is abbreviated as SarbOx or SOX and I found no google hits of it with SOA or S.O.A.
- Society of Actuaries - broadened from U.S. to North America as it extends to Canada
- State of the art - removed - not in article and not broadly used outside promotional campaigns (advertising)
- Same old architecture - removed - no article, no navigation benefit, just listing an obscure acronym
- Search-oriented architecture - removed - not listed in article, obscure
- Start of Authority - rephrased and provided link to target article Domain Name System to avoid redirect and aid navigation
- Super output area - rephrased and provided link to target article
- Sons of Angels (Norwegian band) - removed - not in (unsourced) article, not found on google
- Sons of Azrael - kept - some hits on google, so added SOA acronym to target article
- Spirit of Atlanta Drum and Bugle Corps - removed - not in article, which states it is abbreviated as "Spirit".
- Sons of Anarchy - rephrased: in the article, the acronym isn't claimed for the TV show but for the fictional outlaw motorcycle gang
- Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn - removed - not in article, obscure
- Shards of Alara - removed - not in article, obscure
- Siege of Avalon - kept - not in article but found some hits, so added acronym to target article
- Skies of Arcadia - removed - not in article, obscure
- Soldiers of Anarchy - kept - not in (unsourced) article but found some hits, so added acronym to article
- The Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar - removed - not in article, outdated term used in initial branding, presently abbreviated as LOTRO
- School of the Americas - rephrased and provided direct link to target article, raised prominence of SOA acronym in target article
- Special Operations Australia - rephrased and linked to target article: Services Reconnaissance Department
- Southampton Airport Parkway railway station - removed excessive linking
- Secondary organic aerosols - clarified link to target article, added acronym to target article
and some minor copyedit, and removed clean-up template. - Reidgreg (talk) 17:25, 31 August 2016 (UTC)
