Sources?
editWould somebody care to add some sources to this page? I will if nobody else does, just don't have the time right now. DarkSideOfTheSpoon 03:18, 8 April 2006 (UTC)
Official RAMSI web site
editThere is a new official RAMSI web site, at: www.ramsi.org It would be useful (and appropriate) to include a link to the site from the Wikipedia RAMSI page. 202.1.163.134 22:59, 1 August 2006 (UTC)
I removed the "Unofficial web site" link, as it was just an ad. 120.151.167.79 (talk) 12:25, 5 August 2013 (UTC)
Official website doesn't include "the"
editI just reverted the removal of the definite article from this site (reasons here), but I thought I should mention that this Mission has a website, and it doesn't use the article. So perhaps it should be changed. Discussion is necessary. -Nkocharh (talk) 23:56, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
- No discussion needed. The official name does not contain a "the". Henning Blatt (talk) 02:37, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
- The official name of RAMSI is indeed "Regional Assistance Mission to Solomon Islands", with no "the" before "Solomon Islands". This seems to be in keeping with established practice regarding the name of the country. Aridd (talk) 15:51, 29 January 2008 (UTC)

Serious gaps
editThere are major holes in the information here.
For one, there needs to be an "Arrival of RAMSI" section, explaining the lead up to intervention. Explaining the causes for the conflict provide useful context (and from a good source), but it is not laid out adequately, and needs more explanation.
Secondly, there is quite a gap between the arrival of troops and their reduction. What RAMSI were actually DOING needs to be discussed.
Thirdly, the overwhelming success of the mission needs to be at least mentioned. RAMSI is probably THE example of successful humanitarian intervention.
Yeah. I'll probably try to incorporate these things myself in the near future. But if anyone wants to add something that needs work, go ahead. --Matthew Proctor (talk) —Preceding comment was added at 02:22, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
