Kobalt Tools 500Atlanta 500 — Since this race will no longer be run, the article should be moved to its most common name. In the fifty one years it was raced, it was called the Atlanta 500 for twenty one. The other race was historically called the Dixie 500, so there shouldn't be any confusion between the two. • Ok. How about Kobalt Tools 500 (Atlanta)? Mondit (talk) 02:57, 26 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
  • Strong oppose. This race is no longer run, and was known as the Kobalt Tools 500 for only four of its 51 years of existence. The article should be located at Atlanta 500 as the most commonly used name. The passage of seven years since the last RM does not change the status quo one bit, and in fact makes it less likely that the final corporate name is the common name. Because the nominator did not give a reason for the move, I assume this is an attempt to overturn the previous RM, but there's simply no rationale at this time.  ONR  (talk)  03:43, 26 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose use the most commonly used name. Lepricavark (talk) 13:42, 29 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

The result of the move request was: No consensus to move. The merge suggestion by HumanBodyPiloter5 seems eminently sensible, but really it must be done by someone familiar with the topic. I'm moving this out of the RM backlog, since a simple move could not resolve the mess. As a courtesy, I will slap the Merge templates at both pages pointing here. – It is nonsensical to consolidate race histories for non-Crown Jewel races by anything other than race date. Even if you want to consolidate by sponsor (which I am actively trying to move articles away from), the race known as "Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500" has always been a spring race and therefore should have it's history shared with the other spring Atlanta races. • Merge to a single article called NASCAR Cup races at Atlanta Motor Speedway - No evidence from a WP:PAGEDECIDE perspective that the histories of the two different dates are independently notable. As the nominator said, neither of these are crown jewel races like the Daytona 500, and there's very obviously significant ambiguity as to which date's history belongs at which article, otherwise we wouldn't have this mess. Would also remove the issue of confusing and constantly changing sponsor names, such as one of the current ones which strongly implies the event takes place in Pennsylvania. HumanBodyPiloter5 (talk) 12:14, 29 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
  • Support merge sorry @HumanBodyPiloter5: for just getting back to this now, but I agree completely with this proposal and think it's a better idea than my move request. GhostOfDanGurney (talk) 20:56, 7 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
  • Merge to NASCAR Cup races at Atlanta Motor Speedway per HumanBodyPiloter5. Hansen SebastianTalk 16:32, 8 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Yes but they need to stay sperate because it is two different dates. Lucthedog2 (talk) 11:24, 1 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

"It is two different dates" is not a reason to separate the articles. At the moment the notion that these form distinct lineages is entirely WP:OR and if they do form distinct lineages it is completely unclear what races belong in what lineage. Quaker State 400 (Atlanta)Quaker State 400 – I feel like now that this race has had this name for almost half a decade now, I feel like the typical fan would want to research this one instead of it's Kentucky counterpart, therefore I am requesting we remove the Atlanta part from the article name and just make it "Quaker State 400" 45BearsFan (talk) 14:38, 5 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

At least someone should review Special:WhatLinksHere/Quaker State 400 and retarget the links to unambiguous names, because a lot of those links are probably trying to link to the Kentucky topic. The first article I see in the list of links is Dale Earnhardt Jr., which is trying to refer to the Kentucky topic, but now is linking to the Atlanta event. — BarrelProof (talk) 03:33, 21 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for creating the disambiguation page at Quaker State 400, @45BearsFan:. Natg 19 (talk) 18:35, 21 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
