editDeena Mohamed notes in a personal communication that despite the BBC article she doesn't think that Qahera is the very first superhero in an Egyptian webcomic, given that other vigilantes have come before, it's just that those webcomics may or may not be extant. So-ooo... Is anyone knowledgeable about the history of Egyptian webcomics? This might be a matter of definition. kencf0618 (talk) 20:21, 8 December 2013 (UTC)
- It's very unlikely that a webcomic that started in 2013 is the first in anything. I've seen a reliable source describe Cyanide and Happiness as "one of the first webcomics". People love claiming something is "the first" when they simply don't know anything earlier. I have no idea how to do research on Egyptian webcomics right now, though. I may look into this more in the future... ~Mable (chat) 10:52, 26 February 2017 (UTC)
