editSentences such as "it's a great hotel" etc don't seem to have a neutral point of view
- Checking around I came into this article, let us see what we can do to fix it. :) Zavreio 16:39, 15 April 2006 (UTC)
- I rewrote the article, using and rearranging some of the phrases and adding additional information. Tell me what you think. Zavreio 18:11, 15 April 2006 (UTC)
Good. I am going to remove the "reads like an advertisement" notice which was put here recently. Although its information is rather limited and no specifically negative attributes are cited, it otherwise expresses a neutral tone. It does not read like an advertisement. As a resort are, Cancun and the Mexican "Rivera Maya" seem to be obvious models-- it may be useful to cite the influence of these places and perhaps make specific economic and developmental comparisons, including negative ones Cuvtixo (talk) 17:32, 5 February 2008 (UTC)
city or region???
editI am not really sure about that, but I think that Punta Cana is no city. It is only a region with lots of hotel resorts. There is a private international airport, called Punta Cana Intl. I was there a plenty of time ago and didn't see a remarkable city. I found some figures [1] about the bigest cities of the La Altagracia province... there's NO Punta Cana. - Gesus 18:33, 10 February 2006 (UTC)
- Well, Maybe a Dominican can help here... Punta Cana is not a large city, but it is not only a region either. Punta Cana is a small town under the jurisdiction of Higuey. The use of the name of Punta Cana to attract people to Bávaro also leads to confusion, since both towns are located about 20 minutes apart from one another. Zavreio 16:38, 15 April 2006 (UTC)
- well i am Dominican and i could say that a region or town that has 100,000 as its population can be considered a city...anything with more than 75,000 in Dominican Republic can be considered a city because is relatively high for a nation that only has 9 Million inhabitants.I added a Infobox in case someone gets information about Punta CanaEdwinCasadoBaez 06:12, 19 April 2007 (UTC)
- Well, you don't have to be a Dominican to know what are the characteristics of a city. Check http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/City There is no one standard international definition of a city: the term may be used either for a town possessing city status; for an urban locality exceeding an arbitrary population size; for a town dominating other towns with particular regional economic or administrative significance. Although city can refer to an agglomeration including suburban and satellite areas, the term is not usually applied to a conurbation (cluster) of distinct urban places, nor for a wider metropolitan area including more than one city, each acting as a focus for parts of the area.
Anyway, Punta Cana does not have attributes of a city, therefore can not be a city. Bavaro is not a city, town or a village. It is not related with number of inhabitants, but urban characteristics. Punta Cana is Turistic Area, or even better Punta Cana is the Punta Cana Resort Hotel. [Milos Korac]http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/User:Miloskorac
What does TNT stand for in TNT vacations?
editI tried to match one of the abbreviations described on Wikipedia/TNT but none seemed to fit. What is meant here? Bernburgerin 20:05, 7 April 2007 (UTC)

Climate inconsistency
editThe text says "Very little rain falls around the area", but the figures show 43 inches a year, with significant rain in every month. Colonies Chris (talk) 14:23, 27 March 2019 (UTC)
