Saparmurat Niyazov

edit

Are pundits talking about what his death could mean for the situation there on the ground? Will Iran make overtures, will neutrality be exchanged for western or Russian or some other alignment, and so on...? Chris 21:37, 24 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

merge tag

edit

My reason for putting the merge tag here is that both are short and could benefit from the combination, until Tkm is more than a one party state. Chris 21:37, 24 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

I think this is a good idea. Jeskec 14:19, 27 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Funny

edit

"Niyazov once proclaimed that anyone who reads this book three times will 'become more intelligent, will recognise the divine being and will go straight to heaven' [2]. It is, as yet, unknown how his death will affect this." - Agreed this is funny as hell, but otherwise should it be there? 125.21.165.158 (talk) 09:52, 29 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Important notice

edit

The government section of the "Outline of Turkmenistan" needs to be checked, corrected, and completed -- especially the subsections for the government branches.

When the country outlines were created, temporary data (that matched most of the countries but not all) was used to speed up the process. Those countries for which the temporary data does not match must be replaced with the correct information.

Please check that this country's outline is not in error.

If you have any questions or comments, please contact The Transhumanist .

Thank you. — Preceding undated comment added 03:41, 12 December 2011 (UTC)

Foreign policy section: better sources needed

edit

The refs for the foreign policy section are all archived copies of pages from a self-published fan site about former President Niyazov that is no longer online. The archived home page describes it as a "private web-site dedicated to the first and life-time President of independent Turkmenistan Saparmurat Niyazov (Turkmenbashy)". Although some of these pages, such as the UN resolution, may have been copied from reliable sources, better sources are needed.
