The most important characterization of a politician left out?
editAs long as I live I was under the presumption that a politician, at least in a democratic society, is a representative of the people by whom he/she was chosen.

Points to consider in the article "Politicians"
editThe article includes important starting points that indicate valuable information about politicians in terms of defining the term politicians, clarifying their tasks, and the elements that help them and support their messages through media platforms. However, it lacks organization, up-to-date references, and some information with examples that address some important points to enhance the article and make it more comprehensive.
1- In my opinion, I believe that the term politician needs to be re-formulated to be more comprehensive and clarify the role of politicians in policymaking as a member of the body politic at multiple levels, whether national or international.
2- Rhetoric and Media, this section is very important to explain how rhetoric and media platforms work together for the benefit of politicians for greater communication and effectiveness. However, this section needs more organization, especially in the sequence of development of media platforms and their role in shaping politicians’ messages overtime . It also needs to point out the challenges that politicians face in the context of the development of media, such as misinformation and rumors, as this will negatively affect their political work and communication with the people.
3- In my opinion, the sentence "Once elected, a politician must deal with the government employees and workers who work for him" needs to be reworded because the sentence could be interpreted negatively. Perhaps use "A politician must work with the government employees and workers to carry out their responsibilities.
4- Giving examples of some sections would also strengthen the argument and broaden the understanding, for example, in relation to government job reform, it is important to give examples of some reform regulations such as the Pendleton Civil Service Reform Act of 1883, the Mexican government introduced the Federal Law on Administrative Responsibilities of Public Officials (2002), and the Whistleblower Protection Enhancement Act of 2012 in the United States of America.
5-I think there is some unimportant information that we can omit, such as “Many politicians have the ability to remember thousands of names and faces. US Presidents George W. Bush and Bill Clinton were famous for their memory.”[19][20] Since this obvious advantage is not important and is far from the qualifications and skills associated with political work, there is no need to mention it because it tends to be biased, especially after mentioning the names of only two presidents.
Criticism
editI think it is very important to delve into the criticism section and highlight the reasons why politicians' flaws are under the microscope because it shows the credibility of politicians and how they should work for the public interest rather than their own self-interest. In this section I added and focused on the communication gap, discourse, and accountability because I believe they play a big role in holding politicians accountable and making them more accurate and honest in their communication with people and their organizations so that they do not lose their trust.
