Originally this page was translated from the French Wikipedia. After trying to insert existing citations and find new ones, it became apparent that the French page is mostly copy-pasted from the AFP press release. I then re-wrote sections from their original translations as well as added sources not in the French version.
Though structurally it is similar to the AFP report, after translation and re-writing it is suitably original and the content is verifiable.
On a personal note, this is my first Wikipedia page creation/translation. I would appreciate constructive feedback if there are formatting or other errors that I have made.
