A NEW One New Zealand Party formed (Late 2018) to contest the 2020 NZ General Election and beyond!

Dear Wikipedia NZ Political Editors,

Extended content

ONE NEW ZEALAND PARTY Just a brief note to advise that a new force in New Zealand politics has been recently formed. The party has already held their first Conference and AGM in Wellington in early October 2018 where join concerns were expressed and shared with the sad state of NZ political parties full of career politicians, academics, lawyers, unionists and/or semi-radical lobbyists and activists.

Attendees shared a vision of returning New Zealand to the top of the world in key metrics by forming a party genuinely committed to listening to the majority of average, ordinary Kiwis and implementing common sense policies focused on improving our communities, our livelihoods, our well being and our success as individuals, families and a country. A party run by a board, leaders and members from a wide range of backgrounds, ages and professions sharing a common commitment to making New Zealand a better place for everyone to live and with the best interests of the voters paramount - not the politicians!

A seven member Board has been elected, a leader and deputy leader elected, a draft constitution agreed, a set of bedrock principles established and draft policy positions formulated in most portfolio areas. The name of our new party has been agreed as One New Zealand due in the main, to our commitment to a single legal standard for all citizens, independent of race, colour, creed or ethnicity. We are also committed to equality of opportunity and reversing the current wedge being driven between Maori and non-Maori and the push by some towards separatist ideals. We are about fairness, unity and equality of opportunity and have no doubt if we can move forward as a truly united country, there is nothing beyond our reach and the benefits will flow to a higher standard of living for all Kiwis and much happier and contented communities.

It is very important to understand that this new party has NO connection whatsoever to the previous One New Zealand Party which existed between 1999 and 2006. It also has no connection to Pauline Hanson of the Australian One Nation movement nor the small number of people interested in a One Nation (New Zealand).

Our party is planning an Official launch in the first quarter of 2019 but has created a Facebook Page presence (https://www.facebook.com/OneNewZealandParty/) for an initial 'soft launch' in late 2018 and as a means to share, discuss and debate policy ideas, news, developments and milestones with our followers and growing One New Zealand community. We have graphic designers working on our official branding, colours and logo and we are working hard on strategy, growth, regional development and firming up policies.

The key party contacts are: Paul Davie, Party Leader: theonenewzealandparty@gmail.com Andy Oakley, Deputy Party Leader: ajoago@gmail.com Michael Whybro, Board Chairman: mw1963@gmail.com

In closing, the above information is provided as input for a Wikipedia update and is not intended for verbatim inclusion. Any updated or new Wikipedia article/entry should be discussed/shared with, and approved by, Mr Paul Davie, Party Leader, One New Zealand, prior to being published.

Kia ora I've never edited Wikipedia before so may be entirely off base with how the "For the [something with a similar name], see [link]" works but wanted to mention that this name is similar to One NZ so may be worth considering a link to this or a disambiguation link? 101.100.128.113 (talk) 12:13, 14 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
