I have redirected the teams back to this page and added the little information given to this article. It improves this article and cleans up lots of very short articles.--nixie 15:10, 25 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:NorthwoodsLeague.gif

edit

Image:NorthwoodsLeague.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Added missing rational. --Djsasso 01:20, 2 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Ian Kinsler

edit

I don't know why I keep on seeing this everywhere, but Ian Kinsler never played for the Madison Mallards, or any other NWL team, as far as I can tell. I have taken him out of the alumni section. Kamonhiren (talk) 00:17, 6 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

He played for the Mallards in 2002. -DJSasso (talk) 11:42, 6 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Userboxes

edit

@Tom Danson: I see all the userboxes that exist for this league were created by you. I see that you didn't create userboxes for these teams Kalamazoo Growlers, Kenosha Kingfish, Kokomo Jackrabbits, Rockford Rivets, Traverse City Pit Spitters, Fond du Lac Dock Spiders, Lakeshore Chinooks and Bismarck Larks. 2024 Divisions

edit

@Tom Danson: You've updated the teams table with what I'm guessing is next season's divisions. Do you have a source for this? The current source is for the 2023 season. -- Pemilligan (talk) 14:38, 16 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

My source is the drop-down menu on the Northwoods League website...there's no specific link to it, but hover your mouse above "Teams" and you'll see the alignment. Tom Danson (talk) 16:53, 16 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
Is a source we can't cite a source we should use? At the least, updating while keeping the old source isn't good -- Pemilligan (talk) 03:56, 20 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
It's literally accessible from the front page of the website, and it doesn't even take a click, just a hover. A source is a source (of course, of course). Tom Danson (talk) 12:46, 20 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
Then please replace the outdated source with the up-to-date one. -- Pemilligan (talk) 01:31, 21 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

2024 season sections

edit

@Aj631314: Following up on my edit summary and the response on my talk page:

Wikipedia is not a newspaper. Removed sections tracking upcoming season: "2024 Northwoods League Standings", "2024 Playoffs", "Opening Day Games (2024)"
Ik it's not a newspaper. It's called updating. I wouldn't do this if someone had made a page about the 2024 Season. The opening day thing would've been removed in a couple days anyways because it really served no purpose after the 27th. Aj631314 (talk) 21:02, 26 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

I agree that a season article would be the appropriate place for the sections. I don't think lacking such a page is good reason to add inappropriate sections to this article, especially an opening day section that, I take it, was added with the intent of removing it soon after. I wouldn't want to see similar sections added for past seasons or future seasons.

If you're cautious about creating a season article yourself, this talk page could be a place to ask for assistance, or follow the process at Wikipedia:Requested articles. -- Pemilligan (talk) 02:40, 27 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
