What was producing enough fruit to support a sizeable population of these creatures during the Permian Period? There is no mention of fruit bearing plants in the Wikipedia article on the Permian Period. Would it not be more likely that these creatures were consuming some other soft food, such as molluscs or even arthropods? -- Brothernight (talk) 01:55, 13 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
I'm wondering that, too, but the paper said frugivory. There were a lot of conifers in the Permian, so the "fruit" may be seeds or cones. But then I wonder why the paper didn't use granivory, which is eating seeds. Smokeybjb (talk) 16:50, 13 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
