MSR

edit

Loan servicing, also known as Mortgage Servicing Rights, is a niche industry, not well known outside of mortgage banking field. As such there are few experts on it and virtually no exposure in textbooks etc. MSRs have precisely one little known dedicated publication (mortgage servicing news) and are reasonably frequently covered by American Banker. There appears to be consensus to merge. Done. WTF? (talk) 13:56, 24 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

The loan servicer and special servicer articles do not contribute sufficient information to stand individually; they should be merged here. Neelix (talk) 13:29, 20 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Agree with merge. Loan Servicer and Special Servicer are designations and certifications each of which relates to a part of the general activity known as loan servicing.

clarification?

I am not clear on how often the one to 40 basis points are collected by the loan servicer? Is this typically a monthly fee received? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 172.250.75.95 (talk) 18:18, 25 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

US Focus

Hi there,

This article is biased towards the US market and many aspects of this article (ie. the GSEs, the MBS) only reflect the state of the industry for the US market. Please remove these references or create a US subsection in which this entire article would fit in. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Inspy (talkcontribs) 19:39, 19 July 2015 (UTC)Reply
