Renaming?

All other articles and categories about terrorist incidents by country are named "Terrorst incidents in ....." or "List of terrorist incidents in.....". What about renaming this article to "List of terrorist incidents in France"?--Antidiskriminator (talk) 12:42, 11 January 2015 (UTC)

2014 Nantes attack

I was wondering if this article (2014 Nantes attack) would be included, because even though some aspects point towards terrorism, some aspects point towards a rampage killing as the accused was "unbalanced" and wrote "incoherent suicidal phrases". YingBlanc (talk) 00:08, 13 February 2015 (UTC)

Dispute

The "270 terrorist attacks in France in 1996" claim is likely wrong. I took a look at the referenced database and seems to have a lot of errors. For instance it claims "resistanze" did 46 separate bombings on January 8th with no injuries or fatalities.

What is the standard for "terrorism" here?

If someone attacks a police officer, is that automatically an act of terror? It seems like we are overdoing it a bit with some of these recent entries. 2602:306:CFEA:170:999C:2DE6:8277:651 (talk) 02:21, 14 April 2017 (UTC)

Don't forget that "terrorism" is a term with a specific legal meaning. An attack carried out for political or religious reasons is treated by the law differently from (for example) one motivated by a domestic dispute. The police and security authorities are responsible for deciding whether a particular attack constitutes an act of terrorism; therefore the standard for our purposes is, "do the police and security authorities say this was a terrorist attack?". Police and other government authorities are parties to a given dispute. They are not disinterested parties to a dispute. (And if they are disinterested parties to a given dispute, that claim always requires substantiation.) To think otherwise isn't even coherent, let alone desirable. For police or government accounts (within the same governments, or among different governments) might differ. But more fundamentally, if it were otherwise--if police and other government actors were necessarily disinterested--we would always report their side of the story as if it were the accurate version of what actually happened. Terrorist attack stabbing 4th April 2020

There was an islamic terrorist attack in France where two people were stabbed to death on 4th April 2020. "According to witnesses cited by local radio station France Bleu Drome Ardeche, he shouted "Allah Akbar!"(God is Greatest) as he stabbed his victims." - France 24 news. Islamic terrorist attack 27th April 2020

An attack occurred in Paris on 27th April. Two French policemen on motorcycles were crushed by this attack. The perpetrator admitted he 'did it for isis' after the attack.
