editI doubt that this road is still called "Via Balbia". The article should use the offical name. 131.114.58.49 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 09:19, 2 March 2011 (UTC).
- Actually there it is no official name for a road stretching all the libyan coast. Only historically the Italians gave this name in order to remember the "creator" of Libya. I find right to name this small article "Via Balbia": it is historically related!--Ideanoise (talk) 22:08, 11 March 2011 (UTC)
- I agree.--Rbda (talk) 02:08, 19 December 2011 (UTC)
Proposed merge with Litoranea Balbo
editWe seem to have two articles on one topic. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 16:05, 8 September 2014 (UTC)
- No, this is related to modern Libya but the one related to Litoranea Balbia or Via Balbia is only an historical article about a colonial small road used in Italian Libya. The modern Libyan Coastal Highway has four lanes, and additionally has a route with connections often different from the old colonial one. That's why I erase the merge tag.--Hypess (talk) 17:43, 17 September 2014 (UTC)
- Well, it's likely that some other roads have changed a bit in the last 80 years or so - the A30, or Highway 51, for example. But we don't have separate articles for what they were like then and what they are like now. Nor should we here. The Italian history is part of the history of the road, but that's all it is. I'll restore the merge tag in the hope of generating some discussion. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 16:00, 27 February 2015 (UTC)
- Agree with merge. Gryffindor (talk) 09:16, 9 May 2017 (UTC)

I don't agree with the merger ORDERED by only two wikipedians. I add my vote so it is deleted the merger, because two wikipedians DO'T want the merger. BD — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:58c:c080:8aa0:947e:885f:fe33:f7ca (talk) 02:24, 17 November 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks, 2601:58c:c080:8aa0:947e:885f:fe33:f7ca, for airing your views frankly. You've reversed a merge proposed in 2014 and with consensus in 2017. Given that this creates a content fork, I've reversed your change. If you think that Litoranea Balbo is independently notable, and best covered in a separate article, there is a method for getting that done. Please follow the procedure at WP:PROSPLIT, opening a discussion where you can have your ideas discussed. Klbrain (talk) 05:54, 17 November 2020 (UTC)

Marble Arch destruction
editWas the Marble Arch destroyed in 1970 or in 1973? Basvossen (talk) 04:07, 16 October 2018 (UTC)Basvossen
- It was destroyed by Gheddafi in 1973. Some remains are in the museum of Sirte. BD
