Muslim Registration

edit

To be quite fair, Björklund didn't just demand that Muslim students be reported by security services - all students with extreme views (including neo-Nazis) would be reported. It's fair to say, though, that this has caused opposition from within the Party (not least from the youth league). I plan to edit the page to take account of this.

Ideology in the opening line and the top of the infobx

edit

Should the ideology in the first opening line and that which is placed at the top of the infobox be changed? Helper201 (talk) 00:15, 2 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

Comment on why the rfc was opened: There has been a recent consensus to entirely remove the centrist position from the infobox leaving only centre-right, with editors commenting that the party has moved rightwards. In regards to this rightward shift, would it currently as of 2022 be accurate to still classify its main/primary ideology as "liberalism"? The sources we have for simply "liberalism" by the age and standard of Wikipedia are very old. Namely two from 1999 and one from 2007. Whereas, from what I gather from the comments of other editors, the shift rightwards has occurred in the last few years, long after the publication of these articles. Therefore, would it still be most accurate to classify the party as primarily being simply liberal and not perhaps say its main/primary ideology is now classical liberalism, or conservative liberalism since the recent rightward shift? Both of these ideologies are cited in the infobox, the latter of which with more recently published sources from 2011 and 2019 than that of liberalism. It’s important we make sure descriptions of parties and their ideologies are up-to-date and not signifying what a party was but how it is currently. • The Liberals did shift to the right in the 2000s, and I think that labeling them as just "liberal" would be incorrect, because the the Centre Party is also labeled as liberal. I think that "conservative liberalism" would be the best option, considering that the party has always been classical-liberal/economically liberal, but has shifted more to the right on some social issues.

Mats Persson (politician)

Since he's in the new cabinet, shouldn't somebody create an article about him in English? Orange Mike | Talk 21:15, 18 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
