The next Killzone game has been very breifly mentioned. During a video for IGN.com where the Guerrilla deveolpers are talking about the bosses in Killzone 2, one developer mentions at the end that, he hopes to see you in the next game. A link has been provided here-[1]

Interesting, also at the end of Killzone 2, it's obvious that there will be another game. JDC808 (talk) 03:59, 15 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Spin-off

edit

Guinea pig warrior, Killzone: Liberation IS NOT a spin-off. It is in the same universe. It continues the story from Killzone leading into Killzone 2. It uses the same main characters from the Killzone. Nothing in it has been disregarded in Killzone 2. It's technically the direct sequel of Killzone, it's just not labeled that way because it's on the PSP, and because of that, it makes it an interquel, happening between the events of Killzone and Killzone 2. 173.81.132.218 (talk) 20:05, 3 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

That is a "personal view" and the fact of the matter is, that the game is in 3rd person and the main series is in 1st. They don't keep it the same exept for the charaters but as I wrote, it is "canon" but it doesn't follow the main series and is a "spin-off" GuineaPigWarrior 10:05, 4 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

How is that a "personal view" when all that I said is true? Just because they changed it from 1st person to 3rd person doesn't deem it a spin-off. And yes, it does follow the main series. "They don't keep it the same except for the characters..." Actually they do keep it the same besides the 1st person/3rd person view. It's still on Vekta, like the first game, they're still battling the Helghast, like in every game of the series, you're still following Templar with the other characters as back up, like the first game. What's different other than the 3rd person view? JDC808 (talk) 18:27, 4 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
It isn't a spin-off, it's just a different camera set-up. See spin-off (media): In genre fiction, the term parallels the usage in television; it is usually meant to indicate a substantial change in narrative viewpoint and activity from that (previous) storyline based around the activities of the series' principal protagonist(s) and so is a shift to that action and overall narrative thread of some other protagonist(s), which now becomes the central or main thread (storyline) of the new sub-series. The new protagonist generally appears first as a minor or supporting character in the main story line within a given milieu, and it is very common for the previous protagonist to have a supporting or cameo role, at the least as a historical mention, in the new sub-series. --Soetermans. Kerberos saga

edit

Was it ever explained why the suits look so much like the ones from the Kerberos saga (which has been around quite a lot longer than the game series)? --84.56.109.93 (talk) 15:16, 28 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Because the Helghast planet is quite inhospitable, and it changed the humans who had colonized it. YuriKaslov (talk) 14:09, 10 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Weapons

edit

According to this article you can only carry two different weapons at any given time in Killzone (PS2). But this is not correct. I played the game yesterday and you can carry 3 weapons, no matter which weapon-type. You can have a MG, Rocket-Launcher and Grenade-Launcher at the same time. However I cannot say if this also affects other games of the series. Rakyr (talk) 10:41, 16 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Killzone (series)Killzone – The page already redirects here, so it's not exactly controversial. Kill zone in military parlance is always spelled with a space, so per WP:SMALLDETAILS this makes sense. ZXCVBNM (TALK) 15:51, 22 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
