Proposal to add note in background about the endowment of a scholarship in her name at the University of Texas by her son Carlos Zaffirini. Proposed addition can be as follows: Sen. Zaffirini's son, Carlos Zaffirini, endowed a scholarship in October 2012 in the senator's name. The scholarship was created to continue the fight for affordable higher education in honor of her legislative career and personal efforts to do the same. The Senator Judith Zaffirini Scholarship was created with an initial endowment of $100,000 and a pledge to increase it to support students at the UT-Austin.
