The Ancient People of INdia used inoculation thousands of years before 1960.

I am gradually reformating the references to conform to Wikipedia protocols. Regarding inoculation in Ancient India, that refers to a traditional version of inoculation for medical (healing) purposes, rather than conferring resistance to verbal persuasion. Kookaburra17 05:03, 28 June 2020 (UTC)

New Page Proposal: Cognitive Immunology

edit

Hello all, I took up working on draft:Cognitive Immunology about a month ago, which was originally rejected because the reviewer, stuartyeates, thought the info for the page was already covered here (on inoculation theory). I made some edits after it was first rejected and intend to make some more changes, namely cutting down on references that don't explicitly mention "cognitive immunology" (a mistake of the orginal drafter) and a few additions and other changes. I think there's a good case to be made for why Cognitive Immunology deserves its own page, and I've tried to make that case on stuartyeate's talk page and on MrOllie's talk page (now deleted, but stored in the talk page's history), so I won't try to make that case here again as you can refer to what I've typed there. All that to be said, I'm seeking additional assistance and feedback on draft:Cognitive Immunology before I simply upload the page (which it certainly isn't ready for in its current state). Any help would be much appreciated. Meletao (talk) 23:56, 24 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

'simply upload the page' - that would be a waste of time. The AFC reviewers are right, it is a duplicate article and would be deleted if it were brought to the main article space. - MrOllie (talk) 15:24, 27 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
This is why I'm seeking additional assistance, as it is not yet ready for upload and I recognize the importance of having other contributors. Furthermore, I still disagree with you that it is a duplicate page. That would be akin to saying that evolutionary biology is a duplicate of evolution. Meletao (talk) 00:14, 28 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
I can tell yours is a duplicate page because the majority of the sources you have filled the page with do not actually mention the topic of the article. It is a page full of original research, attemping to draw distinctions from Inoculation theory where there truly aren't any. This isn't surprising, because almost all of the cited sources predate the coining of the term 'Cognitive Immunology'. I would encourage you to find something more productive (and further away from your COI) to occupy your Wikipedia time with. - MrOllie (talk) 00:18, 28 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
Agree MrOllie - time will tell if this theory becomes different enough. Sgerbic (talk) 23:40, 1 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

I think this is a well written article thus far! The key theorist and general information of the theory are clear and descriptive. I think it could be a little more clear with wording and shorter sentences for readers to better understand and process what they are reading. 04noodle (talk) 22:18, 24 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
