Appearances & Reception

edit

Could use a total rewrite. Cleaned up some of it, but there's a lot of "he is ___[ref] he was ___[ref]" that probably needs rewriting or deletion ("he was chosen to be the biggest star in Fire Emblem character"). Also, some of the info in Appearances regarding Brawl seemed to have not been updated since before Brawl's release in 2008, but also linked to Wii U (2014) sources.

Comparisons to other Fire Emblem titles

That section is nothing but original research. Removed. 199.126.137.209 18:43, 10 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Good call. Actually, looking at your contributions in general, you seem like a good editor. Have you considered getting an account? --tjstrf 19:13, 10 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Ike's Luck

edit

Scrolling through the gamefaqs average stats guide, one can see Ike has a higher luck than many characters in the game. He's not one of the top few, but he's got a higher luck stat than at least 20 other characters in the game with about 19 at level 20/20. So for now, I've deleted the statement that he has a deficiency in luck. I'm pretty sure his res is actually higher than nearly any ohter melee unit, but I'm not gonna check on that.--Mr Bucket 01:25, 27 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

removed paragraph, here's why

edit

"Ike can be considered one of the most powerful Lord-type characters in Fire Emblem since Sigurd , and is one of the most powerful of the Lords for all North American Fire Emblem titles, as well as Ephraim and Hector. This is due greatly to the difference in game mechanics between Path of Radiance and the other Fire Emblem titles, however, so some fans claim Fire Emblem's Hector to be the proportionally stronger Lord when scaled for these differences. Ike's strength, speed, defense, hit points, and accuracy ratings are all very high. His magical resistance is moderate."

First of all, being the most powerful lord character since sigurd doesn't make much sense since there have been a few lords more powerful than Sigurd between Sigurd and Ike (Celice, Hector, and Ephraim). Also, being one of the most powerful lords in the NA FE titles isn't a particularily notable accomplishment as there have only been 6 NA FE lords (not counting FE10 since it's not released yet). Then, of course, we have the whole ugliness with "some fans" claiming Hector to be better, which really can't be properly proved beyond the opinions of these so called "some fans". Actually, the last sentence I don't have a problem with, so I'll put it back in. 199.126.137.209 03:29, 18 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Add on Reception section "Jeremy Parish of Polygon ranked 73 fighters from Super Smash Bros. Ultimate "from garbage to glorious", placing Ike at 66th, and stated that "A cloned version of fan-favorite Marth, Ike has no reason to exist in Smash."[1] Gavin Jasper of Den of Geek ranked the Ike 44th on his list of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate characters, stating "After Marth and Roy introduced the sword-swinging style of Fire Emblem to Smash, Ike spruced it up with some snazzier animations and attacks."[2]" 14.192.212.176 (talk) 23:03, 23 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

Not done for now: Seems there is no consensus for this inclusion. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 18:55, 4 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

They can be added on reception section, so it can be improved like other articles. Good articles like Samus Aran and etc has it on their reception, as there are consensus to add listicle reliable source on reception that talks about character. 14.192.212.176 (talk)
As it stands, the text you want does not represent a neutral point of view and adds no substance to the Reception section. If you want to expand on characters' descriptions, feel free to start a section for discussion on the talk page, but please do not reopen this edit request. If you have a different edit request you would like to make, you may open a separate, new request. ––𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗗𝘂𝗱𝗲 talk 04:27, 6 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
