Original research
editThe section on geostatistics suffers heavily from original research. It contains many controversial assertions that are not backed by citations. The tone also approaches POV promotion; In particular, it seems to state more things that the subject did NOT do than those that he did do. It seems to me irrelevant to Wikipedia what the subject did not do. Renato (talk) 09:31, 11 August 2008 (UTC)
Analysis of variance, Fisher's F-test, the difference between Riemann sums and Riemann integrals, spatial dependence, and sampling variograms have as little in common with original research as has geostatistics with classical statistics. (Iconoclast (talk) 16:30, 15 August 2008 (UTC))
I sustain that this article suffers from original research. Besides being terribly unbalanced and way way technical, it promotes a POV not supported by reliable sources. Renato (talk) 08:11, 4 October 2008 (UTC)
1963-1969
editDr. Merks, Matheron did not start working on mathematical morphology in 1969. His first main results are from 1964 (see the link to History of Mathematical Morphology). Please correct your last edit to reflect this. Renato (talk) 18:10, 16 August 2008 (UTC)
