Same meaning: one is currently described as "prejudice or discrimination based on one's sex or gender", other is described as "social phenomenon in which people are not treated equally on the basis of gender". Oppose There is a subtle difference here: Sexism is prejudice or discrimination, and gender inequality is a manifestation of sexism. Alone these two are almost the same, but one can be sexist but not "gender inequality-ist". Not all gender inequality is caused by sexism. Some is caused by gender roles, which is not immediately sexism (but can be), such as women having children and not going to work, causing a gender inequality of income. —Panamitsu (talk) 23:36, 28 April 2024 (UTC)

Manifestation is vague. Do you have a reference for this?

I seems to me the two terms have a history of equivalence in popular usage and older parts of literature. Though, this aspect could be added to the article without merging them. HudecEmil (talk) 22:06, 29 April 2024 (UTC)

Worldwide, adolescent girls aged 10-14 are twice as likely to spend excessive hours (at least 21 per week)  on household chores than boys of the same age. Globally, twenty-two per cent of adolescent girls aged 15-19 are not in education, employment or training (NEET) compared to thirteen per cent of boys of the same age.
