Publication gap
editDoes anyone know where there was such a large gap between the release of the first and second issues? Comics are usually monthly, aren't they?
Yes Comics are usally monthly, but sometimes they are ever other month. I'm not sure which one Gargoyles is. I believe there is no "offical word" but here are a few of the common reasons, 1) it's a third party title, meaning they have the creator who doesn't own the title, the comic book company, and Disney. All three have to "agree" and approve everything. 2)not getting the job done in time, and 3) the unknown factor, ie: a death in the family, sickness, comic pages get lost in mail, etc-- FyiFoff 8:16 17 November 2006 (EST)
That's all entirely true - in this case especially. Gargoyles is being written by its orginal creator, but since Disney still owns the rights they will probably veto certain things that come up. If the writer wants to touch on anything that Disney doesn't want associated with the brand (extreme violence, Lexington's sexuality) then they can mandate changes; the comic label will want to reign some in things, too.
- Gargoyles is intended to be a bi-monthly comic, coming out every other month. Issue #2 was delayed because the artist had some unspecified problems, which have now been solved. Issue #3 was delayed because Disney, which has to "approve" every issue after it is colored, took forever and a day to approve it. #4 came out on time however, and the people involved don't anticipate any more delays. As concerns Disney's approval, the creator/writer, pencilers, inkers, and colorists are now well ahead of schedule, so the two month space between each release should be enough for Disney to approve things on time.
Will the new Gargoyles "Bad Guys" comic be mentioned on this page, or will it have its own page?
- For now let's keep the spin-offs here. If they become more prominent later on we can easily create a separate page for it.--M m hawk 05:59, 18 October 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:GargoylesCvr3.jpg
editImage:GargoylesCvr3.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 10:36, 4 June 2007 (UTC)

The Comparative Sizes of Bears
editDid the series win the Ursa Minor award, as noted in the reference, or the Ursa Major award, as noted in the text? San Diablo (talk) 03:11, 2 July 2008 (UTC)
Release Dates
editIt states that Gargoyles #9 came out in June but from what I have been reading around on the Internet plus the fact that it still hasn't shown up on SLG's website tells me that information is false.
It also states that Gargoyles: Bad Guys #4 comes out in July but from what I have been reading on the Internet that sounds unlikely.
Obviously someone is putting up bogus information. So I will erasing them and putting TBA until a source can be provided to prove otherwise. --The Virginian (talk) 15:54, 10 July 2008 (UTC)
Trade Paperbacks
editBoth Clan Building Volume 2 & Bad Guys: Redemption are being put out in Trade Paperback form. Both will contain the issues of the comics that were never released individually. Source: http://www.s8.org/gargoyles/askgreg/search.php?rid=795 --The Virginian (talk) 01:29, 15 October 2008 (UTC)

Halloween Special #1 and publication chronology
editThis one-shot is currently listed as issue "9.5" for the first Dynamite series but it won't be in the second TPB. The story more or less fits there chronologically but could use its own listing below the 12-part series. Maybe after more special issues come out? It´s also debatable if Dark Ages and Quest should be listed first. I did my best with the new edits.
