Diego Campos (Costa Rican footballer) → Diego Campos (footballer, born 1995) – Usual way of disambiguation, by the year of birth, instead of the nationality. CreativeNorth (talk) 12:07, 3 October 2020 (UTC)—Relisting. Jerm (talk) 01:33, 29 October 2020 (UTC)
- Oppose. Insufficient disambiguation from Diego Campos (Peruvian footballer) and Diego Campos (Mexican footballer), who are close in age. Nationality is standard disambiguator per Wikipedia:Naming conventions (sportspeople)#Association football (soccer). Per Wikipedia:Naming conventions (people)#Disambiguating: "Years of birth and death are not normally used as disambiguators (readers are more likely to be seeking this information than to already know it)". Years of birth are only used when there is no other reasonable disambiguator, such as when people of the same name have the same profession and nationality. DrKay (talk) 12:47, 4 October 2020 (UTC)

- Support per nom; YOB is standard disambiguation for footballers given sporting nationality is fluid. GiantSnowman 16:56, 4 October 2020 (UTC)
- Support per nom. Wikipedia:Naming conventions (sportspeople)#Association football (soccer) says to use the most conclusive of the steps, and community consensus is that the year of birth is the most conclusive. Although to be fair, that section should be reworded to reflect that. Bait30 Talk 2 me pls? 02:51, 5 October 2020 (UTC)
- Imagine this nomination had opened on 30 September instead of 3 October, or in any month from June to September this year. Diego Campos was a 24-year footballer, and Diego Campos was a 24-year footballer. Next year, both will be 25-year-old footballers. The players are the same age. They play in different positions for different teams in different countries. The more conclusive disambiguator could be position or nationality or team. It isn't age. DrKay (talk) 16:41, 17 October 2020 (UTC)
- Oppose, mostly per DrKay. Close birth years aren't insufficient for disambiguation, but there's clearly a better option in this case. --BDD (talk) 17:10, 28 October 2020 (UTC)
- Oppose per DrKay, BDD and WP:CRITERIA. Birth years really are a bad disambiguator as they are less commonly known, unnatural, not really the essence of the subject. FOARP (talk) 11:34, 5 November 2020 (UTC)
