Criticism

I removed the line "This is possibly done so that the children who form the main consumer base of Chacha Chaudhary comics understand the comics easily", as I fail to see how the apparent lack of effort that goes into the drawings, plotlines and translations can help children understand the comics better. Surely to have correct English, no matter how simple, would be of greater use to children than grammatically incorrect English. Cdeuskar 03:38, 15 March 2007 (UTC)

Removed Criticism

I have removed the rest of the criticism which is as follows

"Despite the popularity of the series, Chacha Chaudhary comics are criticized by some for having low-quality illustrations, weak or implausible story lines, and incorrect English in translations."

There are two issues with this statement.

1. First is that Chacha chaudhary is pirmarily hindi language comics. It'd be like someone Writing on Tintin's page that "people criticize this comics for bad hindi translations."
2. Second and more important problem is that they are not citing their references. Its not citing a respectable source website that has criticized the comic for bad drawings or translations. It is clear that its the author of the wikipedia article him/herself that is criticizing the comic of low-quality drawings, weak or implausible story lines and incorrect english.

if tintin comics were badly translated into hindi, one could mention that they were poorly translated, with reason. and it does go without saying that the grammar is poor, and the illustration is of poor quality. for instance, sabu is invariably bent over double with skewed limbs, to fit into the frame of the strip. and then he proceeds to say things like "don't you know the manners?" if it hasn't been criticized as yet, it ought to be. joseph 21:54, 17 June 2007 (UTC)

Similarities

The similarities bet'n CC and asterix is part of a very common double act genre. The comparison with Tintin is rather arbitrary. Tintin is not supposed to be intelligent and witty like CC. He's more of an adventure-loving kid. Overall removing the tone of plagiarism, deeming it unnecessary. Taking out the following.

" The dog Rocket replaces Dogmatix as the faithful hound.

Also, there are similarities between Chacha Chaudhary and Tintin, who has more or less the same kind of persona. Whereas, Chacha Chaudhary was first published in 1971, Tintin and Asterix have been in circulation from much earlier times."

The Name of Chachi

I have been reading these comics since more than 15 years. Everywhere I've found the name of Chachi to be Bini as opposed to Channi. I am changing the name from Channi to Bini. I have never heared the name Channi in comics or otherwise.

So as to formally cite a reference, in the comics titled "Chacha Chaudhari aur Dhamaka Singh", Chacha asks Chachi by addressing her as Bini:

Chacha: Bini, I'm hungry.

Chachi: Beggar will come after sometime; then food will be cooked for him. You will also get the food then.
