Henderson archaic pigeon → Bountyphaps – Obscure extinct bird described in 2008, "Henderson archaic pigeon" is not widely used as a common name for this taxon Hemiauchenia (talk) 01:55, 18 December 2021 (UTC)
- Support. Current title is a description ("the archaic pigeon from Henderson island"), not really a name. The phrase "Henderson archaic pigeon" doesn't occur in any of the cited sources (which includes the 2008 description). It does appear in a 1995 publication as a description for a then undescribed species, so at least Wikipedia didn't make it up out of thin air. The current title isn't a COMMONNAME in the Wikipedia sense ("the name that is most commonly used (as determined by its prevalence in a significant majority of independent, reliable English-language sources)"). The scientific name is the COMMONNAME. Plantdrew (talk) 04:20, 20 December 2021 (UTC)
