Hagiography

edit

Seems to contain a hagiography of one of the participants in the battle, labeling them a "hero"Frobird (talk) 14:45, 25 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

I re-wrote the part in question as well as fixed some grammar and sentence structuring among other things. I'm confident that I re-wrote it enough to fit the criteria to remove the annotation warning of a non-neutral opinion in the article, so I did. MeadeIndeed (talk) 18:38, 14 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

Review of my Revamp

edit

Sorry to bother you, @Utopes (I don't know any other reviewer and I think you're quite a good one), but I've revamped this page entirely to try and make it as good as possible, and I was wondering if you could possibly review it and see if it could get a higher rating on the content assessment scale? Correcting or pointing out mistakes would also be appreciated. Thank you, BeamLSB (talk) 22:41, 27 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

@BeamLSB:; thanks for the ping! This article, as written, is a C class for sure. When it comes to the early stages of WP:Article assessment, (i.e. stubs, start-class, and c-class articles), the primary distinguisher tends to be the length of the articles and references section. You've added a lot of depth to the article (quadrupled its size!!), and I can confidently say the article is at C-class as a minimum.
B-class has a set of criteria, which differ depending on the project. The general criteria for a B-class article is written at WP:BCLASS, but WikiProjects might have different criteria on a case-by-case basis; you can ask the folks over at WT:MILHIST for questions about military-history article rating.
Above B-class are the elusive WP:Good articles and WP:Featured articles. Each of these assessments will require a lot of commitment from one particular editor to one particular article of interest. Honestly, I think you'd totally be able to write a good article, if you have a topic in mind with extensive reliable sources. You'd have to pick an article to nominate at WP:GAN (Good Article Nominations), but you'd need to make sure it meets the good article criteria first.
That all being said, this article is definitely at a C-class for now. The only rating that this can possibly be promoted to (without going through the GA nomination process), is to B-class, and the B-class assessment for this subject-matter is usually handled by the WP:MILHIST folks who I'd recommend getting into contact with. After B-class, the next step is GA-class, which has a case-by-case review process. Let me know if you have any other questions! Utopes (talk / cont) 02:23, 28 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
