SRs 8000
editRB293 is a particular machine of the type SRs 8000. They are not two different excavators. Therefore I removed the confusing statement that SRs 8000 is now the biggest excavator instead of RB293.
The confusion may have been caused by the English version of the TAKRAF website. The German version is clearer:
Requested move
editMAN Takraf RB293 → Bagger 293 — Reasons for the requested move: "Bagger 293" would be a better title because that name is used by the current owner (RWE) of the machine, and because "Man Takraf RB293" is an odd mixture of outdated names.
- A few years ago "Man Takraf" (the manufacturer) changed its name to "Takraf".
- A few years ago Rheinbraun (the previous owner) was overtaken by RWE, and the new owner refers to the excavator as Bagger 293 without the outdated initials RB.
- The name "Man Takraf RB293" is odd because it mixes the manufacturer and the initials of the owner into one name.
- In addition the proposed name would be more consistent with a similar article about its little brother, Bagger 288.
- (May be the requested move is complicated by the fact that at present there is a redirection the other way around. Three pages ("RB293", "Takraf RB293", and "Bagger 293") are currently redirecting to "Man Takraf RB293"). Ceinturion (talk) 21:13, 8 July 2009 (UTC)

Self referencing
editThe first source of this article (the youtube video titled "Bucket Wheel Excavator (Bagger 293)") is unreliable as its own source is a blog post which is itself sourced from the wikipedia page for "Bucket Wheel Excavator". I also couldn't find an actual source for the sentences referencing this youtube video within the wiki page for Bucket Wheel Excavator.
Also note that source 5, a pdf file in french titled "cours extreme engineering" negates several things in the article, including facts that claim to be sourced from it: it says that the construction cost 100 million Euro, not dollar, and that it is not the same as bagger 288's cost (Which is actually 80 million euro), as well as that the date of construction is actually 1999 and not 1995, that it requires 17.5 megawatts rather than 16.56, and that it has 20 buckets and not 18.
